My wife and I will be in Cleveland the first half of next week then swinging back through Columbus the second half of the week.

We will have plenty growlers in tow so my question to you, gentle BA'ers is this: What seasonal/special releases will be in the area we should try to get growlers/bottles of?

    Thanks in advance.

The BottleHouse has released some new sours in bottles with one draft only iirc.

Thanks for the heads up, last time we were through we had a great time at the Bottlehouse on Lee Rd, we planned on stopping again.

Too bad you won't be there on the 15th for the Keeper of the Craft fest.

Besides the usual places mentioned, I think Masthead brewing is the best new spot in town. I say that not having been to Noble Beast yet, but the brew at MH is pretty damn good.

I have not heard of either, I will add them to the list. What's your favorite brew at Masthead?

Just picked up fills of the Mango IPA and Imperial coffee stout; both good

If you stop at Market Garden across from Great Lakes in Cleveland you can trade a growler for one of theirs for under $9 and they will fill it for free. Their growlers have a seal top. They have a good selection of beers. Fatheads almost always has some good IPA or double IPA on draft. $4 house pints or $2.50 pints on Sundays at The Brew Kettle are good.

Might still be able to fill up on All The Breakfast at Wolf's Ridge.

Hellamango and the Summer Smoked Porter look tasty, what's your favorite in house beer at Market Garden?

3/4's of the tap list looks tasty at Wolf's Ridge, a breakfast cream ale sounds really interesting. Can't say I've had one of those before.

If they are out of All The Breakfast, the Coffee Vanilla cream ale called Clear Sky Daybreak is easily one of the best beers in Columbus. They offer it in 6ers to go.

That was last year. Bodhi is out in 4 packs with constant, but sporadic release. It's usually easy to find, but it often sells out before the next wave hits. But when it's available it's literally everywhere.

Can also visit platform. Down the street from market garden to the west, a short drive. Stopped there today and found a different tap list for them = no IPAs or stouts, lots of saisons and a few sours & wheat beers. They're supposed to release a hazy mosaic IPA next week if you like the hoppy stuff.

Thanks for the heads up. Platform was definately on our list to try but I'll make it a higher priority. As much as I enjoy hoppy beers I was looking for some sours, stouts and saisons to being back to Hoosierland.

Wolf's Ridge Brewing has all of those styles right now.

If you have an opportunity to stop in Zanesville, this week is the 10th Anniversary for Weasel Boy. They are tapping 2007 and 2012 Anastasia kegs (Russian Imperial Stout Bronze and Gold medal winners at GABF respectively) as well as a version of smoked Anastasia with Vanilla and Cocoa Nibs, plus 3 barrel aged beers (surprise ).

Just an option, seeing as you are looking for sours/stouts/saisons.

    Cheers!
