Did you happen to get any Blissful Ignorance as well? When I was there on the 4th they only had the 5/22 version of BI, which unfortunately I thought was gross. Oddly enough I've purchased at least one June version from that location, which I love.

Just had a Hooey.... Canned Batch #2 is just the same as canned #1. Not the same beer as on tap IMO,

 

Wild Mind is doing their second Crowler release tomorrow. It's a 100% Brett fermented wild ale barrel-aged with guava purée.

havent tried this batch yet, but i still say it needs a week or two on it before drinking. also, open a while before drinking to let that carb settle down (Prior planning- I know!). I thought it was quite a bit better than right out of the gate!

 

Anyone know somewhere south Minneapolis metro area that has Hooey still?

 

I'm drinking one right now that was canned on 6/1 and it's pretty fantastic. As good as I remember on tap, but I've only had it once on tap back in May so...

 

Hooey cans this time around are an improvement over the first run for me and my buddy, both agree it's still a better beer on tap or out of growlers for some reason but they seemed to have calmed the carb on this batch just something isn't quite the same in cans yet for this beer. It's all over the North Metro right now with no limits that I have seen for people looking.

 

Cracked a crowler tonight and it's got a strong buttered popcorn taste and aroma. I'm pissed because these were $14 bucks a crowler and I bought 2. I've never had a beer with such strong diacetyl flavor, but holy cow this is unmistakable.

 

Agreed. I think it's a bit juicier and less bitter then the last batch.

 

That sucks! Do they have these beers on tap or are they expecting people to take a chance and hope for the best? I was wondering about this when the pineapple ones came out. Even if the place has a decent rep, $14 is a lot to spend on mystery beer...

 

Anyone seen Zeelander around the Mendota Heights area?

 

Blue Max Liquor in Apple Valley had it on Friday.

 

Not sure if it's on tap, I just stopped by and picked up a couple crowlers and left. I've had good luck with Wild Mind so I guess I didn't think much of it, but this release was a big fat fail to me.
