I hope everyone was able to complete their pre-trades and razzles... It would be a shame if someone's beer status resume took a hit if they underestimated the time to get in line. A damn shame.

I thought the release was handled well, especially given the amount of people so props to Kanger and the guys. Being prepared, opening early, wristbands, constant updates, and multiple POS stations made all the difference.

We were in line by 5:15 and initially didn't think we'd get all 3 but in the end we were able to which was great. We were shocked with the amount of people there before 5am. Truly crazy.

The lamest issue is that we counted about 20/25 professional line sitters which is absolutely ridiculous and pathetic.

Some had hats and/or shirts that said #linedude, "we wait on any long lines in NYC", and we saw some people getting checks in front of us lol

Week in and week out, @Kanger and crew can these beers flawlessly to make sure the hordes of people get their beer every week with no hiccups. The unsung heroes of the weekly OH fiesta.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I thought the line moved really slow for 6 check out stations - about 4 hours to get through 700 people.

I suspect it's the glasses that slow the line down. Wish they had a separate line for that stuff like Tree House but hard to blame them for cashing in on some merch hype.

Managed to get everything on tap and relieved myself of FOMO.

All are solid and great. I would put twice baked over fully loaded.

However, Mylar Bags is still the best thing on tap. I would pour a couple other OH non-Collabs over the potato-batch too.

twice baked kicked once while here, and was replaced right away.

The Line Dudes are an NYC business...they wait on line for everything from cronuts to Hamilton tickets and charge by the hour. It's New York. If people have the $ and want to pay, more power to 'em.

I get it, but that doesn't make it any less lame.

gonna have to call you out on calling professional line sitters lame and pathetic when you're in the same line as them at 5am.

My sentiments exactly but giving him the benefit of the doubt and hoping he called the line sitters' clients lame.

I'm gonna be honest, the only really "lame" and terrible thing today, in my opinion, are people who mainly stood online to resell cans, tekus, and merch at insane prices, and the people who drove drunk or were obnoxious/disrespectful to surrounding neighbors in the area.

But there's a fair amount of animosity in this thread. I have no issue with people who arrived at midnight, or line-sitters who do it as a means to get paid. Regarding the latter, I was in a spot of financial trouble a few months back, and strongly considered line-sitting as a means to make some cash. I mean let's not pretend everything is happy-go-lucky for everyone in today's economy. After all, part-time jobs are soaring, so let's not run around judging people, but I digress...

More to the point, I don't think there is a major difference between people who wait for hours for a rare beer, and people who wait in line for the newest Nike or Adidas release, or the newest video game console, what have you. Are there instances of excessivism? Sure, from both OH and their fans. But ultimately, these are simply passionate people and in my experience, people who aren't passionate about anything are often just boring. I feel like talking shit about craft beer "super fans" on a beer forum called Beer Advocate is kinda weird.
