I'm super local and at this point, I just want a club/hook up that will guarantee me a single 4pk of whatever is on offer. That's all I ever want and what kills me about the dudes who drive in for full allotments.

I'd gladly pay $100 for an annual membership that allows me to do that tbh...not even the beer just the right to purchase a single 4pk! I've heard from friends in the know they are racing to raise capital...that's free money on top of beer cost!

My wife showed me the Threes Instagram of their new hat (available cheaper and ONLINE) around noon and I have to feel they were throwing a little shade at OH.

I'm just venting though, people who lined up early/got their beer however, cool. I don't begrudge anyone. Hilariously my wife loves potatoes more that any food so I was going early today for her to try and snag a glass

Next week will prolly be something great.

Thanks, I misinterpreted what they wrote for the limits. I thought it was one 64oz growler max per person (e.g. you had to pick 1 of the 3 to fill) or two 32oz growler max per person (e.g. you had to pick 2 of the 3 to fill).

And spending as much time doing it as those who were in line at that!

i mean there is a huge difference between waking up at 3am and waiting 6 hours for beer and shitposting from your phone.

i got 10 hours of sleep, walked to the farmers market, a 4 mile run and chilled by the pool all while posting.

    Hahaha exactly

The overtly bitter sour grapes posts are lame I agree with you guys. But some constructive and/or lighthearted shitposting is fair game.

Where did I say the line sitters are pathetic and lame? Pump the breaks. I said I understand people need to make money and that's fine, but IMO the people who pay other people to wait in line for them are lame.

On the topic of people paying people to wait in line for them - I'm not sure if I agree that they (the people paying) deserve a special category of lameness above and beyond anyone who's willing to do what it takes to get hold of the beer - they're just willing/able to spend more money to do so, and therefore are able to spend less time.

And should there be instances of people who have $X to spend on beer, who, instead of lining up and buying a full allocation of beer, choose to pay someone to line up for, say, half an allocation of beer (ie spending approx same amount overall) then I'd almost (almost) argue they're better than people lining up for full allocations - they leave more beer for other people and someone who needs the $ makes a few bucks.

I dunno - the way I see it the only dickheads are the resellers/profiteers - as far as people buying it for themselves the way they go about it doesn't make much difference to me.

I woke up at 615ish for this and didn't go today, obviously, hearing there were 500-700 people.

Being on the outside looking in, I will commend OH for a few things.

#1 is that they did lower their limits, which I've called them out for before. Sure, 2 or 3 four packs would be even better but they did what we've been asking, and that gets more beer in the hands of more people.
#2 they really pissed me off and a lot of others with the merchandise ordeal. Not only did they explain themselves, they said we'll honor the $25 because we don't want to be labeled as ripping off our customers.
#3 wristbands were a good idea. I've always figured that's a good idea to combat out of towners having their boys pull up at 945 and hop in line so we get these turds with 6 cases of each beer

OH cannot control who buys their beer. They physically cannot say "You're from out of town! You're going to sell all this you jerks!!!" That is not their job or duty to figure that out. It is what it is. What it is, is a frustration for people like me and plenty of us on here that are content with a four pack and want to move on with our day. And yes, I know we can get growlers. I know I can grab a beer there. It is just different having a selection in your fridge for the day you are having and when you want it. You aren't forced to suck down 32-64 ounces in a day.

All in all, limits were lowered, wrist bands were handed out, it sounded very organized. It's nuts that people camped out overnight. That's their decision. The fact that it's becoming this insane, and turning into a black market business is a bit tiring and kind of kills the fun is all. I think we are allowed to be pissy that people got beer and merchandise solely for the fact of selling it on FB or eBay, who don't give a crap about OH except for their weekend profit of a grand.

Let's hope for less hype next week!
