My only question has been why not try weekday releases, pay back to the people that keep the lights on. Tired Hands does weekday, HF has an extra day for Vermont residents. I get it, it's a business, but at some point rewards locals, it will sell out regardless by the weekend.

Days like today make drinking beer from your favorite brewery feel like a competitive sport. I have too much of a beer gut to be in any competitive sport.

If somone is willing to pay over retail for anything (concert tickets, beenie babies, bedazzled dildos, etc) there will always be resellers. It sucks and I don't cosign, but guess what? That's what the market value is and as much as i hate it, theres no way to stop it so i ignore it/dont pay the higher price.

Just like some people on this forum I would have liked to grab some beer today but when I woke up and saw the posts on this site + IG, I went back to sleep (for 5 more hours).

At the end of the day it's just beer. I waited on line for 2 hours the first time I went to an OH release and told myself that's the last time I would do that - so much good beer out there that there's no reason to do that. I've been fortunate enough to grab like whoa (trillium collab) with no wait and BUTS (monkish collab) with no wait by coming out later in the day after the crowds have settled. I planned to do the same today but it wasn't in the cards. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and this week was a loss...more so because I refused to wait in a crazy 5-hour line. I can always go by later to get a growler fill.

It feels like much of the dissatisfaction with this weekends release is a combination of entitlement and FOMO. Don't worry folks...next week will be more beer!

This is exactly my philosophy on these kinds of releases. What is so special about the beers released today that they warrant this much time and effort into getting them as opposed to what is readily available with no hassle at other breweries or even the local store? Is the line part of the fun, or has beer become a collectors' item? I don't want this to sound like I'm bashing the people who sat in line, I am legitimately interested in hearing why the desire to do so exists. There are so many good IPAs out there now that are easily obtainable, so what makes these so much more desirable that they warrant sitting in line overnight for? I simply don't get it.

Oh, I meant their listed tap room hours of noon, not the can sales at 10. You're right though.

You have got to be kidding me. Just sign up for certain credit cards and they will reimburse you for the fees to register for TSA precheck. And actually if you fly enough, paying for it out of pocket isn't all that much. Trying to connect that to some kind of class statement is ridiculous. But I get it, yesterday was a big day for drunk posts.

I had Fully Loaded and it was pretty good but still a bit green, very drinkable for 10% too which I heard was an issue with BUTS.

Unfortunately I missed cans by like maybe 30 people, I was right at the door to the new taproom when they sold out. I'm hoping they'll still have it on this week so I can swing by for a second taste.

For as much of a shitshow as this release was was I think they handled the can line about as well as they could have. Unfortunately, the growler fill line for those who missed was total chaos but that's to be expected with how tiny the taproom is.

Some folks are willing to pay 'cause to them it's worth that. So for them, that's cool.
