I tip when I purchase glassware with my cans. Wrapping them up securely deserves a few bucks.

For a $15 Teku glass? This seems completely crazy to me.

    I don't.

Edit: I'll tip for delivery but I don't tip if I'm picking it up.

I remember about a year or 2 ago some celebrity didnt tip a waitress and she posted his receipt online and it went viral. She got fired after it came out that he had ordered takeout

This seems strange. I tip the waiter/waitress at a restaurant. I do not tip the chef unless I am sitting at the sushi bar. The waiter/waitress is removed from carry-out. Why should I tip for a service that was not performed?

Also, who cares? If you want to throw your money around, then fantastic. But a person knows when they've earned it. Nobody is being forced to work at these breweries. They are paid a wage they accepted. If they receive a tip then I'm sure they appreciate it but hardly expect it. Why should they? They aren't hauling it into your car. They aren't providing you with any considerable customer service past taking your money and handing you a product.

I can name a thousand businesses in which I do not tip the cashier. Why should I feel any differently about a brewery? Because I like the beer? Feels selective.

I don't know. Do what you want with your money. Why should what I do with my money matter?

Tipping, the most offensive and defensive topic in all the land.

Can we move on to the price of their stouts already?

Might as well cover every complaint in one thread

Hopefully the one thing we can all agree on is that you never, ever tip on stouts. Find it very strange when I see this happen at a bar.

Waiters, waitresses, and bartenders get paid less than minimum wage and in some places pay taxes on their tips based on a percentage of the ring for that shift. They are working for tips. Other workers at a bar/restaurant are making significantly more per hour, at least in my experience.

From tipping, to not peeing in the sidewalk or leaving your trash, to not drinking and driving, whether waiting in line for beer is an acceptable life choice, etc. the Other Half thread always turns into a seminar on adulting for idiots.

in short: don't litter, don't piss, don't even fucking come here please, and no need to tip unless you're drinking beers in the taproom

    also, "on line"

So when someone is being disrespectful and pissing and littering while IN LINE at Other Half and you observe it, do you say "Hey asshole, you are really off of line?" or do you say "Hey fuckface, you're out of line!"?

And when said ********er gets his/her act together are they behaving "in line" with acceptable behaviors or "on line"?

Not sure how the OH thread has come to these discussions, but there are many who would argue vehemently against you. Tipped front of house employees typically net MUCH more than the back of the house and other hourly/salaried employees who actually work more hours at a much higher hourly rate in most situations (I won't get into the reported/effective tax factor, most of you have worked service at any point know what I am referring to). You can argue both sides, and I salute some NYC restaurants for trying to even the playing field for all employees via no tipping policies. However, this typically leads to worse service as there is less incentive for the FoH staff to go the extra mile they might if they know there is no chance of a fat tip at the end of the service.

BTW, by overwhelming majority it is In Line and not On Line (looks up the stats, I think like 85%+ of the US say In Line). OH can single handedly change that stat though simply by spray painting a line retracing the line from last Saturday. At that point, both are perfectly acceptable while posting to social media about your whalez share in/on line for hop juice.
