I'm waiting a week to open my growler of Twice Baked, 2 weeks for Fully Loaded.

which leads to the next question... what's the longest you've ever waited to open a growler? I'm contemplating pushing that fully loaded growler to 3 weeks post-fill but i'm concerned it may get flat. I've never pushed it past two weeks.

2 weeks as well for growlers that have been CO2 purged.

If there are any growlers I would push to 3 weeks it would be Other Halfs. That counter pressure filler really does a great job and it should be fine.

Quite a shift in the IPA consumption today from say, 5 years ago, as the "Drink as fresh as possible!" mantra has been replaced by "It's a little green, give it a few weeks."

    Hmmmmm...

Which replaced the origin of the English India Pale Ale altogether.

I should have been more clear. Most criticism of OH appears to be met with immeediate push back. I don't really care about the tipping thing.

5 years ago you didn't go straight to the self-distro brewery to pick up cans that just came out of the tank too.

Actually I did. Plenty of Albuquerque breweries self-distro and sell cans the day of canning. I can't say for certain, but I would bet The Alchemist and others were selling uber-fresh cans 5 years ago too. This isn't some new beer world development that OH is showcasing.

They're talking about a triple IPA though. The original high ABV IPA, Dogfish 120, has always been a 'wait till it mellows' beer going back 15+ years...

I believe that was more because the beer was essentially a barleywine and drank really hot fresh.

A lot of the comments about mellowing out today's IPAs have to do with hop bite, bitterness and green qualities.

My utility bill was kinda high last month, I really think that OH should do something about it. I mean, it's kind of effed up that they're not. What kind of brewery is this?

Oh lame, people are talking about the beer again. Missed my chance

Thinking about making my first trip to OH on Saturday. After the big event last week, what time do you guys think you need to show up to get cans?

Were the Monkish, trill collabs last week way better than any other dry hopped ipa's you guys have had? I'm not being a d!ck, I truly want to know if it was worth waiting overnight since there's so many IPA's available now.

Eh...I think all 3 were solid for sure. I don't know if any were life changing, but then again, what is?

Side note: When are we thinking the Veil collaboration drops? I'm hoping next week, I'll be away the following so wanted to try and be able to get some.

They are all very good. I cant say they are better than some of the regularly available Other Half beers though, def not worth the wait.
