I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned that there is a group of people who wait in front of the brewery before opening in the hopes that there's a can release.

Whether that's true or not, I have no idea. But, beer culture being what it is, I'm leaning toward true.

Sadly there is a group that does exactly that, every day according to the Monkish employees.

    Cheers

Always great seeing you Vic !
Going to let these settle for a while, especially the Tired Hands Collab.

    Cheers

i didn't know they actually waited in line, I thought it was people waiting in the lot in their cars.

I can confirm... I have a lot of customers in Torrance so I am by there quite frequently... around 2-3pm daily there are about 20ish ppl just hanging in the shade in the lot just waiting

Wish I had the time to do that daily..... lol

So am I reading this correctly that they have separate lines for can releases and growler fills? I'm planning to stop there Friday at 1 for some growler fills and am worried there will be a can release that can slow me down.

I guess it was foolish to hope they would release yesterday or today. growlers will have to do :slight_frown:

Heart Turns Cold is one of the best beers Monkish has made, you should be more than happy with that one.

I wasn't a big fan of this one - found it too boozy.

It is 8.6% but IMO the booze is really not decerniable at all. Its at 3 weeks right now and peaking, hit up two more fills last night before it kicks.

    Cheers,

I don't ever recall them doing a Monday release. It means that those 2pm line laborers can at least be sure they'll be at work one day out of the week.

Yeah I figured Monday was unlikely but at least I got FOMO so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just had Heart Turns Cold a few hours ago...would have passed on it had I gotten a splash of it. I just felt it didn't gel together can't really describe why not though

I felt that way about guided meditation, I wouldn't drink that beer again.

I can 100% understand that. Guided was a very different beer. more similar to liquid lemon candy than beer. Id love more of it / any similar beers anyone has found
