I made an Imperial Pale Ale, kinda bigger Zombie Dust meets Bitter Oats. First batch I had 15% oats. I'm backing down to 10% for the second batch.

    Why are you backing down?

I wanted a little less mouthfeel.

That would be my answer, too.

This is probably one of those instances where percentage of grist provides incomplete information for evaluating issues. 15 % in an Imperial recipe is likely a lot more oats than in a mild recipe, for example - more oaty goodness per unit volume. 15% might be too much in one recipe but just fine in the sort of recipe I'm more used to.

The more you know! Thanks for the correction - don't want any wrong information out there.

Also, @VikeMan , I'm not "bound" by that value - I use it as a conservative minimum guideline and thought I would share. Although it's not a hard concrete tested value, I believe the podcast was someone from Briess malting (and most of Brad's guests are respectable sources...). So, not just "some guy".
