Three Floyds shortage

The potential for a Chicago brewpub has already been reported. That would make A LOT of sense for them with a fairly minimal investment.

 

heard theyre only down to a couple floyds these days

 

All in all the main thing I got from this thread is that the brewery burns down A LOT. I think before making any investments they should first fix that problem... maybe move next door to a fire-station...

They talk about both a Chicago pub location and a collaboration pub with Mikkeller. Honestly, both sound more interesting as personal projects than "brew moar beer".

 

I was wondering what was going on with Gumballhead. It was always in my regular rotation and readily available. I still see Alpha King and other FFF's everywhere. Is it still made but not distributed as widely as before? If so that seems bizzare. In any case I just want by beer back.

 

I can't seem to find Dark Lord anywhere. I guess the stopped making it.

 

I'd like to tell you a story.

We got some Zombie Dust here this week. Naturally, i limit it to one 6pk per person (not just ZD, you can choose ONE FFF 6pk, that's it.)

This guy came in yesterday and asked about FFF. I explain that it stays in the back due to limited supply and high demand. He says wow OK, you know i found this store that carries FFF stuff, and they just put it all on the floor, you know. So i bought it all. Like 4 cases. I said cool. Then he asked for a sixpack of Zombie Dust.

I'm pretty sure 3F has a limit of how much they can give to each distributor. We're only allowed 3 cases a week. Sometimes they don't have Gumballhead (which is understandable) but haven't had a problem with Robert the Bruce or AlphaKing.

 

Shoulda been like, 'ill lay you out on the floor son, right there next to the smirnoff!'

B) I live 5 hours away, been there once, would stop by if in the area, but that's about it.

From my trip through there, it seems like they have a decent amount of property, and they could always go on the other side of the tracks if they could secure some land. Many breweries have other "production" facilities down the street, etc.... Hell, GLBC manages to pump out a good bit of volume while being located in downtown Cleveland.....

If anyone is around the Whitewater,WI area Acorn Beverage has two six packs of Gumballhead that I doubt are going anywhere soon. They also have three boxes of BCS that I haven't seen move at all. Have a pretty nice Bomber selection as well.
