I am visiting the Denver area August 15-22. I am looking to go out to Fort Collins for a few days during my trip as well. I am looking for some people to drink beer with and show me what the cities have to offer. Also suggestions for breweries to check is appreciated.

There are lots of Breweries in Ft Collins worth visiting. Biggies like New Belgium and O'dell's and smaller ones like Equinox, Funkwerks, Horse and Dragon. Many of them are very close together. Give Boulder and Longmont a look too. Avery's and Back Country Pizza in Boulder are worth the trip. Back Country has a very impressive beer list.

You can hit a whole bunch of them on foot just walking from one to the other (NB, Odell, Funkwerks, FCB, Snowbank, Horse & Dragon, Coopersmith's, Equinox, etc.

However it's worth the time and effort to drive or Uber/Lyft down to Zwei. They make some of the best German beers around along with killer English and new-American stuff, too.

Even if it hasn't, I wouldn't wast my drinking capitol on them, personally. (But good question...as I am curious about the answer)

Funkwerks and Odell are my 2 must visits. Very limited personal experience, but based on those impressions and the word from folks here, Zwei is a must visit for me next time I am in town.

Horse & Dragon and Equinox are worthy stops too....but I am not sacrificing time or beer at the other spots for either.

I'll miss the era when FCB seemed to finally know what they wanted to be...right around when they moved from FW to the new place. That lasted maybe 18 months before they tried rebranding and overhauling their line-up yet again.

Either way, it hasn't been worth a stop in a while, but you'll walk past it on your way from FW to Odell. There's a distillery on your way, too. I haven't been, but I've been told it's dangerous. I guess the owner will keep giving you things to try and the next thing you know you're not gonna make those last few brewery stops.

    For Fort Collins:

Book a tour at New Belgium. Now. It will sell out, if it hasn't already. It's the most fun beer tour in existence and it's really fun. Odell is a must-stop, especially if you're here on a Thursday (the Tramp About food truck sets up shop then; best food truck in Northern Colorado). Zwei is my favorite brewery in town (happy to see so much love for them from folks on here). Jessup Farm Barrel House is easily in the conversation for best in the city.

For beer bars: Tap and Handle, Choice City, Hop Grenade, Mayor of Old Town, The Forge.

Post up what you like to drink and we can direct you further.
