Hit up more last night. I have to admit that I was underwhelmed. The space is fantastic, the menu is good and will be expanded. The staff is friendly and attentive...

As far as the beers goes. Had chemical connection, Dusty, Loose Candies, anything bust Sassy....

Thought Dusty wasn't anything special, just a standard pale...good, better than some, just avg.

Chemical Connection was the star for me. Even though I couldn't pick up the rye, it def reminded me of the taste and feel of Shaun's former beers at Ram.

Loose Candies- I honestly thought this wasn't very good. Mouthfeel was decent but the taste was all onion. I finished it but the struggle was real. Just tasted off to me, I wanted to like it but I just couldn't

Anything but sassy was ok. Again just an avg Saison. Nothing to write home about.

Overall my experience was good. I think once Shaun dials it in, the place will be great. It was a decent First attempt but I'm glad I didn't spend $17 a 4 pack for anything. I will def revisit down the road.

Why wouldn't we expect it? Maybe you shouldn't put out cans if it isn't where you want it... I'm sure he'll get everything dialed in in the upcoming months.

Only tried Loose Candies cans so far I can agree with what most are saying good mouthfeel decent smell but the flavors are just off. Losts of herbal onion and boozy finish. Drinkable but definetly off a bit. But again I wasn't expecting fire right out of the gate. Once dialed in and their own canning line things should improve. I'm just loving the NEIPA styles coming out of the Chicago area.

That just looks like run-off from the recent storms. When is More having their first beer fest?

I get your point, but personally I think all 3 of the canned beers were good to very good. I liked the APA the least, which is often the case for me with the lower ABV hoppy beers. I loved the Rye IPA, and thought the loose candies was pretty good. If the beer deserved to be drain poured, then for sure, they shouldn't release cans. But there's a wide range between drain pour and the best IPA you've had. I'm happy to buy cans while Sean goes from good/very good to great.

Also, I have no idea if it's still on tap - but if you are there and want something unique, try the Chai Sassy.

    Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the constructive feedback, i seriously do take it to heart and try to make changes as fast as I can. I never want to see people dissapointed in any beer i brew. We didn't find any real technical faults in the beer we canned, just a few tweaks for future batches. With that said, I wanted to let you all know we just tapped a fresh batch of Dusty and Loose Candies. I feel like some of the wrinkles I had with the first two were ironed out on these, I think you'd all agree (still want to make a few minor tweaks). Bear with me while I get used to the system here and I think we'll all be happy to have more hazy hops here in the area. Stout is being brewed right now, im super excited for it. I'll try my best to keep you guys/gals updated on the release.
    Cheers,
    Shaun

The idea that they shouldn't have released any cans if the beer wasn't mind blowing is ridiculous. He definitely needed to have some beers on tap, and the owners probably wanted to do a can release for a big opening. It's not like the beers we're rotten or infected, they were perfectly good stuff that some people liked and some didn't. This place is still a business.

I didn't try them, but the reviews seem mixed. As a consumer I look at reviews and weigh them to make a decision on where to spend my money. I'm still planning to try More, I know it takes a while to dial things in that isn't the case for everyone though. Do you want the word of mouth as your first canned beers as a business to be "the beers were mind blowing" or "It's not like they were rotten or infected"? No right answer, but I know which route I would choose.

I would want the brewer to put out their best effort at the time and (just as Shaun has done) acknowledge he's got room to grow. FWIW, the three cans released are all at 4.1 or above on Untappd.

Also, I'd like to know which brewer's first commercial offering was better than the subsequent effort, as I call bullshit on that assertion. Things always get tweaked and improved on over time.

Cracked my first can of Dusty last night. Great nose, but the initial taste was just okay. As others have noted, it was a bit thin. The taste just didn't hold up to the aromatics of the beer. However, as the beer warmed, the taste came more in line with the nose of the beer and I thoroughly enjoyed the beer. It's not going to set the world on fire, but for an NE style pale, I think he hit the mark. Is there room for improvement? Sure. Still, I think it's an incremental improvement as opposed to a complete overhaul of the beer.

First off, Untappd is the participation trophy of beer- look at the BA reviews. For 2 out of 3 these wouldn't warrant purchasing being sub 85s....

Hahaha untappd being referred to as the participation trophy is gold. I'm going to start using that.

I trust the opinions of my beer friends on Untappd more than the pretentiousness of this site.

Of your friends, makes sense. I trust my friends opinions on untappd as well. But I don't trust the overall rating on Untappd.

I would love for the first set to be incredible. But as a business I would rather have good beers that most people seem to like at opening, rather than telling the public that we won't have anything for two more months because we have to go back to the drawing board.

My point in using the Untappd rating is to show these beers have been received fairly strongly by the general beer drinking public. For an opening weekend release with the brewer saying he's going to keep working on perfecting it, you can't ask for much better.

By all means though, please don't come for the stout release. I'm sure it won't be his best offering ever, therefore not good enough for some of the complainers.
