First taste of the Slurm Lord....Have to say this is a complete step above Slurm....This is a real attempt at a NEIPA....Very good.

No joke, the beer brought me to Short's but the people take it to another level. Whether its been at the pub or through the web, (both this one and Short's) it approaches Disney level customer service.

Do I really want to bother the store by calling them when they post bottles to go on their website?

I'm in the same boat. If a brewery is posting what they have to go, a tap list, other information. I am betting it is so they don't have to constantly answer the phone with the same info. Especially if you keep a light staff. Add in the times when I do call places (I hate talking on the phone) and they are clueless.

    I 100% prefer to check a website.

For the record, it's truly amazing and awesome to see how fresh our beer is hitting the market right now, especially being among the larger breweries in Michigan. This is from over 6 years of watching the growth, inventory levels, and distribution. It's now almost approaching Psychedelic Catgrass style with all product.

No doubt...my 6er of Slurm Lord was 7/7/17....damn hard to beat that kind of freshness....

Psychedelic catgrass....cant wait for that..Top 5 IPA in my book...love the stuff.

Taste wise I'd put it top ten Short's IPAs (Sticky's more my style) but the aromatics are absolutely insane. Are there gonna be 3D glasses this year?

I would agree. It was about 12-16 months ago us locals (at least myself) were complaining because Shorts beers were hitting the MI market with 3-4 weeks on them consistently. Shorts has made improvements and I, for one, am appreciative of the improvements that have been made.

I also feel that Shorts has made an honest (and successful) attempt to listen, react, and respond to local customer critiques, requests, etc. While I consider that the local response to Short's decision to branch out beyond "Michigan Only" may have something to do with their increased energy towards the locals reaction, I am happy to see their concern and response.

I can admit that some smaller (much smaller) MI breweries have a tighter relationship to their locals. But Shorts, as a bigger MI brewery, has maintained a wonderful relationship with us in MI and truly listen, absorb, consider, and respond to what we have to say (never, I plead never, put Superfluid on the back shelf again!)

While the top tier MI breweries like Bells and Founders are producing wonderful beers and getting them into our hands quickly, they aren't consistently on these sites or reacting to our calls, emails quite like Shorts....

I've always found it amazing that we have not one, but two massive breweries in our state that do funny shit like this. I wonder what the backstory is. Is this just normal for other states too?

Anyone catch Slurms McKenzie hiding in the window on the Slurm Lord label? I had to go back and check the Slurm label and sure enough there he is hiding very faintly on the guy's shirt.

Slurm Lord is a vast improvement on Slurm. This is what I was hoping for in the first place from Shorts for a hazy IPA, but it seems like the message got through for this one. Still need some improvement but is defiantly a step in the right direction.

I've been critical of shorts lately, especially slurm. But slurm lord is a massive improvement, imo. I like it a lot - one of the better NE IPA's I've had in this state.

Was able to stop into 7 Monks for the first time and What'Cha What'Cha What'Cha Want (thank God for predictive input, it's a pain to type) was on tap. Really hope this one gets a release, as much as the market doesn't necessarily need another IPA. Maybe as part of a variety pack. Aggressively bitter, lots of herbal and citrus flavors and a peppery, spicy bite.

This one is a truly bizarre combination. But let me take the opportunity to say that Totally Noche was totally terrific. It's one of the best Vienna Lagers I've tasted.

Agree 100%. You guys have been an interest of mine since I got to the U.P., and I have noticed a 2-3 week delay on specialties hitting the shelf from bottling, until about 2-3 months ago. Excellent work. Currently drinking a 7/13/17 Slurm Lord. That's what I call fresh.

Quick side note. On my third SL, and starting to notice that same metallic start as slurm. The middle and finish are where you guys have defiantly improved.
