Well that sounds absolutley delicious.

 

Maybe overpriced is the wrong word. But some of it makes zero sense to me.

For example 9$ for fried giardiniere - is like 5 pieces of vegtables for 9 bucks.
OR
11$ for a kale salad...LOL
BUT
You can get a huge pile of mussels for 14

For 16$ it better be the best burger in the city...it is not
BUT
A huge Schnitzel for 15 is a steal its at least 2 meals.

I persoanlly with they had more small plate and app type stuff. Things to pick at over a couple of pints.

 

Here's my two cents on the food (wife and I had this same discussion when we were there Tuesday). We've eaten there multiple times now and both agree that its average. I love the fried giardiniera (although its a quite small plate for the price), cheese board and the schnitzel. Many of their other offerings are good, but a bit a bit bland, and at their price, I don't bother trying some things. The wings are mediocre at best (no zing to the sauce). But overall I'm fine with most things, except...

The fries. They are a step above McDonalds. For as high quality as the ingredients in most things are, I don't understand why the fries are that bad. Would definitely prefer some nice fresh cut fries (and if they are, they need to cut them thicker or not fry them as long as they are always just dried out and flavorless).

 

And the Beer Cellar is sold out of Radio Swan

 

Checked Binny's Grand on my way home from work. Nothing yet.

 

Didn't get to try the Pipeworks iteration of a negroni, so I'll be sure to give this a shot when I'm in next.

 

My buddy got the fried giardinara once. It was a joke. Like you said, 5 small pieces for $9.

Honestly couldn't tell you. I work near the grand location, so that's the basically the only one I go to with any kind of regularity.

 

Go into the taproom and try the beer... it's fantastic... that's it

 

Well hopefully they've still got some.

If they do, don't tell the rest of the rabble, just give me a high sign.

Lincoln Park Binny's should definitely have it for whenever their next Windy City delivery is. I don't think Lakeview will be getting it.

 

Just left Binnys Grand. One 4-pack of RS left out on the shelf.
