I haven't been out to an OH release since the first handful, when would you guys recommend showing up for tomorrow's release?

    Dumb question:

When they open, do they let you go up to the front to buy sammiches and that awesome coconut cold brew from Gaddy Lane? It always kills me waiting to get up front for that...maybe I should not have been waiting...

You can go right up and by from Gaddy Lane, most of the time they are serving well before Other Half actually start selling beer.

Always hard to tell without knowing exact yields, but assuming usual production 8:00 to 8:30 you should be good, if not earlier

maybe we should update the opening thread with "first time on line" anticipations.

    Cans are released every Saturday.
OH classic single batch with a hyped collab— Will not last past 1pm
OH classic double batch with OH single batches— Will mostly last til the next day. Single batches will most likely sell out if it is a hoppy IPA. All other styles will last(Boogie Board Stuntz will be riding the wave for a while)
OH collab single batch with high end brewery (say CloudWater/Answer) will sell out by end of day.
OH collab double batch with high end brewery (say CloudWater/Answer) will most likely last til the next day.
OH collab with Monkish/Trillium— 600 people in line before 6am. reevaluate your priorities if, at all costs, you need to have cans of this beer and associated swag.

What about single non-colab mid-week batches? double mid-week colab with high end? stouts?

may want to think about a grid...

Finally popped open my Fully Loaded Baked Potato after 2 weeks in the growler and it's tasting great. There's no doubt it was better than when I had it on tap the next day it was released.

mid-week- thats for the locals and rarely happens. OH will not drop a hyped mid week collab- it goes against their business model.

stouts- show up anytime. bourbon barrel aged stouts- show up any time.

tomorrows drop might be low key even though its a veil collab. coconut might turn a few away. i think that after 12 it will be pretty chill and they'll have either space diamonds or stacks left over. that is unless they brewed a small batch of either than the out of town case monsters will gobble them up (for profit).

I'm pushing that growler just one more week. An exercise in willpower.

Makes no sense to me that this release would elicit a line like what you're describing.

EDIT: Are people actually excited about a coconut IPA?

It appears the OH has built a self sustaining hype machine.

I personally love coconut and loved the few coconut IPAs I've had. Im super excited for that beer. Having said that, after going through the potatoes release I will never go to OH again for even a mildly hyped can release. Growlers on Sunday are fine for me.

It probably because its a collab with The Veil, who are also pretty hyped at the moment. It sounds interesting to me, but not enough to actually get me to go out and stand in line early. I've heard that the collab is a double batch so it might make it to later today.

Bracelets being handed out, perhaps a sign of things to come.

Telling people in line that there is plenty of the collabs, but the others won't last through the current line.
