Short's Brewing Releases & Updates (2018)

For those in the know....Is Psychedelic Cat Grass going to have standard distro or they doing the crazy 24hr deal again? If standard distro there going to be more then last time? I couldn't find the info on the site or here anywhere....
I don't want to have to cut somebody to 6er.....lol

 

Is Breakthru Beverage onboard this time? Last time I think they were one of the few distributors who would not participate for this release.

 

Cool to see Short's starting to get into the 4pack 16 oz cans. Is this the first release to get that treatment?

I'd agree for the most part, although we finally just got the last mixed 12er (SuperFluid/Kiwkriek) in Escanaba this week. I didn't look at all of the bottles but at least one was from 5/30.

 

Enjoyed Mighty Shorse and Ants on a Lager at beerfest, hope both make it to bottles or cans at some point.

 

Thats interesting, I was able to grab sixer of Superfluid from a mix and match over 3 weeks ago. Whats your main shop? I've noticed you really need a good beer manager to get anything U.P. here. Also persistence is never a bad thing either, just keep asking for what you want. That's how we got M-43 stocked here.

 

Really digging Shorts this year. Looking forward to pineapple pilsner.

 

I go between Sav-Mor, Elmer's, and Meijer in Escanaba depending on what I'm looking for. Elmer's especially gets everything Short's releases so I don't know where the ball got dropped on it. Both Elmer's and Meijer just put it out this week so it seems like Imperial just didn't bring any here. Oh well, first world problems.

 

On another note, does anyone else have trouble drinking Slurm/Slurm Lord? To me it feels like particulate hitting my throat and it's unpleasant. I do get this periodically, and generally it's beers with a ton of suspended yeast (intended or not). Although I haven't gotten this with the few other NE IPAs I've had.

All the more for everyone else.

 

Slurm was especially bad with this. SL seems to have improved but the burn in the beginning is still there. I think your right about yeast being the culprit here. I have never tasted the weird metallic burn in any other beer, let alone any other NEIPA.

 

That was the last of it so it hit shelves in 45 days. We are Out of Stock on variety packs but the new one should be packaged and released in the next week. We just started on the first beer today and the last (Spruce) as soon as it is ready.

 

They are on board this year!

Had this on draft at Mary's Bistro on Mackinac Island not too long ago, very tasty!

 

Nice, had this on draft in Alpena over 4th of July weekend. It was terrific, refreshing. The wife will be happy as well.

 

So since Heineken owns all the shares in Lagunitas, looks like the rumors from months back were pretty accurate.

Anyone with knowledge in these deals have any insight what implications this means for Short's consumers in Michigan and (if any) consumers/fans of Lagunitas?
