Quick question... I always try to land a big tick/want for Masters weekend, which is always close to my birthday. With the expanded distro of SOS, will something like Pirate Noir , Karbach Good Golly Miss Molly, BBH Hellfighter or JK shelfs land me some SOS? I can buy these now while available for the later trade. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I would take JK shelfs for SOS...

You should have no problem landing Sip with the beers you have. Ask for some Heady and Trillium while you're at it!

FWIW, Prairie gets distro up here, so while it's tradable, it's not extra valuable due to unavailability. JK (I'm assuming that's Jester King) should pull about any NE hoppy beer you'd want, and Sip is usually easier to acquire than, say, Tree House... I sent a buddy a box of NE hops - including Sip and TH and Trillium - for some JK Dichotomous bottles, some Yellow Rose and a bunch of interesting local shelfies (including a sixer of Live Oak Hefeweizen).

Don't worry, a couple weeks ago SDB decided the NE forum needed a new resident curmudgeon and it's been a quick drop since.

Not to dissuade you from the potential trade but I just had a 2/6 can and damn was it onion-y.

Having a 7/13 can right now, backing this statement up.

Has fallen off very hard. It was never top tier but it has gone down hill. Seeing the limits creep up at my beer shops as well. Sales must be leveling off big. Not long before it is shelf surfing. Super session is already no limit and starting to sit.

Sip isn't worth a slight chase/hunt or the $16 4-pack price tag any more IMO.

OK beer but I'm not going out of my way for it & spending top $$.

I still like Sip but will admit that something doesn't taste the same anymore. I remember debating whether it was better than Heady Topper. Doesn't even seem close anymore.

Still love seeing it package stores and will grab a 4 pack every now and then. But yeah, seems like another beer falls victim to scale.

People around here have mentioned that Sip falls off dramatically from its canning date. I don't know how true that is, but if you're seeking it make sure to get some as fresh as possible. By the time we see it in Boston its usually a week or two past canning already.

Lawson had a blog post a few months ago that said it was due to the new crop harvest and he was planning to tweak it/source other hops I believe. I've been waiting about two months. Stern buying and haven't seen a difference yet.

Second'ing Sip's taste falling off very quickly. After 2 weeks it's not the same at all.

Should read "in between buy", no clue what happened there.

Glad I'm not the only one. I never got the Sip love, particularly when in VT.
