Equilibrium Brewery

Hard to approach this, so will give you an open-ended response:

Cans stuck around all day last Saturday, and even carried over into the next day; however, Fluctuation has been released before + it was the only (new) offering that day. Furthermore, HVB had a release that same day, which might have drawn some of the crowd.

Now, the predicament is that this Saturday is the release of a new can/IPA, which will be accompanied by Casey Apricot. Consequently, with more than one (announced) offering, and no other release(s) in the surrounding area, this could sell out faster…or not. Hence, open-ended

 

Is Hoptimization 2 currently available on tap?

 

Can't wait till they release bottles of Sarah Appreciation

 

Looks like Hop 2 was added to the website today.

I'm psyched, heading there tomorrow for the first time on my way to the Finger Lakes.

Allotment for Hoptimization went from a case to 3 4 packs, now down to 2.

 

A shout out to these guys. I arrived this afternoon about 10 minutes after the Hoptimazation 2 cans sold out. The friendly guy at the table sold me two bottles of Casey Apricot and threw in a "taster" can of Hoptimization 2. That's a first for me. The folks at Equilibrium couldn't be nicer and I'm now a dedicated customer/fan. The Hoptimization 2 was great but I have to say Fluctuation is still one of the very best DIPA's I've ever had. It's quite an achievement for a fairly new brewery As far as I'm concerned, the sky's the limit for Equilibrium!

 

After seeing the line starting at 7:30 AM on the trade group, I decided to go easy mode and went to District 96 and had Hoptimization 2 on tap at Burger Loft. It's such a great beer, but then again everything these guys put out is great.

These guys are going to be the upstate Other Half in no time.

 

They already are for the most part. When I was there for the last Fractal release, the line was actually more of a scene than OH. It was a literal whaley hop can swap meet. Many had one cooler for ad hoc, in line trades and another for their allotment. There was also a higher ratio of really drunk people in line by the time they opened than I have seen at OH.

That said, I've had great experiences in the 2x I have been up to a release there. Their customer service is excellent, those people are so stoked and it shows and the beers are incredible. The layout of the building is also well planned, fills after the release and food (very good food mind you) are also easily attainable.

 

TABA and Hoptimization 1 on for fills today, but damn -- this place really got cleaned out, huh? First time for fills or anything in over a week.

Regarding people who make a day of standing in line and swapping beer, it's amazing how they find designated drivers who are willing to sit with them, without imbibing. All my friends would be happy to go, but I can't imagine them wanting to be the one person there who doesn't drink I assume they're throwing the DD a wad of $$ or something, or are driving dangerously

 

Had Hoptimization 2 on Sunday. Great stuff. Can't wait to visit the place soon

 

If you think those who are drinking in line/spending hours at the brewery have designated drivers, i have bad news for you...

 

So many topics (many inane) get discussed on this site, but other than some one off mentions, the idea of drinking responsibly and calling out those who don't doesn't get anywhere near as much attention as it should.

 

+1 to Fluctuation being awesome. I've been lurking on this board ever since you all started raving about Equilibrium last winter, looking forward to the day I'd finally get to try something from 'em while also assuming there was no way they could possibly live up to the hype this quickly out of the chute.

I drank a 2-day-old Haze last week -- as an aside, the new Tree House facility is insane -- followed by a Fluctuation, and I'm not sure I would've been able to tell the difference if you'd handed both to me blind.

 

I just had Hoptimization 2 here in NYC and its fantastic, except for the price

 

Was planning my first trip to Equilibrium this Saturday evening for my birthday dinner, this can release adds an extra twist in my plan...

Do they just stop can sales at 4 pm? Wondering if there is any hope of getting there at 330 and still snagging some.

Agreed. You can always pick up a growler of it instead. Have a good one.

 

What do we think is the latest one might be able to arrive and still get cans?
