The Alchemist (July 2017)

I would anticipate you will score a Skadoosh next week, it's about that time. Also expecting Holy Cow to make another appearance at some point in the future (pure speculation on my part). Good luck.

 

I gathered from the Mule Bar guys that Alchemist was pouring Wild Child at Foam's little fest not too long ago. That'd be pretty sweet.

 

Generally Heady is the first to go. On a busy day (summer weekend) it can be gone by 1:30. If you go on a slow day (weekday off-season) it can last all day. FocalBanger is usually plentiful (yea for me, it's my fave) and their other offerings such as Crusher usually last a little longer than Heady. If you get there at opening (10am) you're guaranteed of getting what you want up to their per person limit (always good to bring lots of friends!).

 

I'll be stopping by on Saturday 9/2 (likely around 3pm) on the way to Burlington, after our trip to Hill Farmstead. Is Labor Day weekend usually quite busy? I'm sure it is, but would like to hear thoughts from someone who's much more familiar. Praying I get there and heady is still available, but it's not looking hopeful.

 

It's only been open for one Labor Day so far so hard to guess. VT beer spots are indeed usually extra busy on Labor Day weekend.

I'm sure they'll stock up for the holiday, but if you have Heady on the brain, you might want to reverse your plans and hit Alchemist first. HF will be busy too, of course, so I guess it depends on whether you're worried about anything in particular selling out there.

 

Thanks. More interested in HF, especially in the event they have cans to-go for the holiday weekend that Saturday. If I don't get Heady in Stowe on the way to Burlington, I can always try to find a store in Burlington that will get a shipment on Monday before we go to Boston.

 

Monday is Montpelier day. BTV area Heady drops are Tuesday and Thursday, with the WInooski Bevy getting some on Saturday. Check Heady Spotter to see if you can snag some elsewhere.

FYI, Heady Spotter is inaccurate and effectively disabled for a while now. Monday deliveries are now in Stowe.

 

Skadoosh IX

Same as Skadoosh I but only Mosaic Lupulin powder in the whirl and pellets for the other additions. I was all pow I think.

Man I love whatchung those YouTube videos. He seems so baked in some of them it's hilarious.

 

I went to the Hunger Mountain Co-Op in Montpelier a couple of weeks ago and learned that they put out 8 cases of Heady in the morning, with a 2 4-pack limit. It rang true as I returned a couple of days later first 6 customers at 8 am headed straight for the beer cooler

 

They put out 8 cases every day?

 

Yes, they used to just do all their weekly allotment on Thursdays, with a case limit. Now they do smaller amounts, with a smaller limit every day.

 

We' don't arrive this Sat afternoon at Alchemist around 2pm if we are lucky and I doubt I'd find Heady. But have a free day Monday, where in Stowe could I find some?

You can also hit up Uncommon Market and Yankee Wine and Spirits in Montpelier. Both locations are right next to Three Penny Taproom and usually have it on shelves around 2ish. I would recommend TPT for a Burger and then walk over and grab some Heady.
