Heading to Trillium tomorrow for my first trip. I assume this will clean them out of most cans currently available?

I got sick of HTT after 2 cans. Choked down the other couple I couldn't give away. Hard pass for me. Hope everyone enjoys.

Trillium is really doing a number on both bank account and my liver these days ... now someone kindly point me to the end of the line. I'll assume it'll be at Lucky's soon and turning the corner, right?

Great news is Trillium's regular beers that you can acquire in 5 minutes are better or the same as the hyped collab stuff. Let the sheep line-up for them, 95% chance next week you can stroll in and load up on a nice variety of awesome beer.

I got to Fort Point at 10:55ish - prior to seeing any announcement (I just needed beer for a week's vacation) - and there were maybe 15-20 people in line. When I walked out at 11:10, there were 75-100.

Who knows what percentage of the line was there for the Other Half collab, but that's a pretty impressive response time!

I'm usually in agreement with you in all things beer and line assholes but I loved it.

Line is long but moving fast. Weird seeing color on trillium cans

I liked HTT a lot. Canton is a well-oiled machine - there about 11:50, line was almost nonexistent and moved super fast.

At first sip, THTT is pretty good. Sharper than I expected a Galaxy/Citra forward to be - I think El Dorado might be coming through stronger than others, but WTF do I know. Can really taste the peach, I think I can taste the apricot (it's a little sourer than peach, that comes through).

Nice beer. Very nice beer. No N&A throat-burning scratchnastiness at all. Can't comment on guava, because frankly I don't know what guava tastes like.

Very well said. I love going to Canton when there isn't a hyped release, and I would never go on a day like today. Especially considering it's sure to be available in the taproom for a little while. I had affogato on tap this week. Nice way to avoid the crowds and avoid buying in an undesirable format.

You seem to overestimate the lines at Canton. I was in and out in like 4 minutes today.

How was the taproom crowd? I like to stick around for a drink or two, that's why I'd rather go when it's not crazy.

Gotcha, the taproom was hopping but the line looked pretty short. It was pre-lunch on a Friday, so probably got longer between then and now. I usually find myself at Canton on Friday at 5-ish or on Saturdays, so the tap line always looks way too long.

200etc is good. I remember last year's being waves and waves of soft hops and fruit juice, this one seems almost heavier handed? The fruit is there, the hops are certainly there, but they're not really hanging out together. It also has a considerable amount more bite which is fine by me. A nice reminder that I am in fact drinking a beer. I know there is no mango in this beer, but it sure does taste like it. It may be because the flavor is reminiscent of the beer-that-we-do-not-mention without the esophagus erosion. Mango, grape skin/orange pith. Acidity keeps it rather dry.

There's a slight burn on the finish that will hopefully go away in a week or so. Definitely going to sit on the remainder of my cans and continue to enjoy the remainder of my farsnworth st. That beer is outrageous.

My guess is this is all due to HTT being a single IPA and this one a DIPA.

    oh
oh for sure, but it just seems to have lost some of its balance along the way. Still really like it, and I think I will love it in a week or so.

I do wonder if the cause of the 'burn' in Never & Again is due to the interaction of the fruit adjuncts + hops more than it is specific to a single fruit like mango. I only had one--err, rather, a quarter of one--can of N&A, but based on my recollection, the sensation on the finish felt like an amplified version of the 'green' flavors I get in some extremely fresh (D)IPAs from a variety of brewers (Trillium, Monkish, Other Half, and a whole bunch more). In fact, it was extremely similar to drinking the 'sludge' that sometimes forms at the bottom of these hazy cans (I can't be the only one who's at least tried it...).

So, I wonder if the culprit in N&A and, perhaps, in 200TT could be the cohesive and coagulative properties of high-pectin fruits (of which mango is notoriously one)? I'm not a homebrewer, but my understanding is that a significant amount of hop matter should drop out of the beer during fermentation. If an adjunct is causing that matter to remain in suspension through fermentation and packaging, the result would be a beer in which that acrid sludge/trub/hop-and-yeast-and-protein-matter is not only introduced into the packaging vessel but also rendered frozen in liquid even within the can.

For this reason, I'm still very skeptical of heavily hopped, fruit-infused beers. But on the plus side, if I'm right, N&A should be tasting pretty solid at some point in the next few months/years!

Glad you loved it. I did too. Just got old to me quick. Not something typical with me either. Just had me not running out to get this one. Enjoy!
