    Hello all,
Every year for my birthday, which is coming up, my small crew heads out to a brewery we haven't been to before and trades a ton in line waiting for a release. As far as spots around Philly/NYC we have been that offer #linelife releases are Tired Hands and Other Half (and then a lot of other breweries but further away). Looking for a recommendation for a Saturday morning release somewhere in Jersey or anywhere within a 2 hour radius from Philly.
    Thanks for the help!

    Cheers!

Easton, PA. You have Weyerbacher, Sole, and Two Rivers all within a mile of eachother.

So you want to drive 2 hours to wait in line.
Go to Magnify on a Friday

I mean obviously no lines would be the best, it's more of just a chance to get to a brewery release we don't usually hit up. We tend to make our waiting "worth it" by trying to leave with as many different beers as possible.

Troegs works, might go to Pizza Boy if we head out there too, been to Troegs a lot and love that place.

This was pretty high on the list even though we have been to Weyerbacher before. Haven't been to the new Sole spot, I saw they are releasing like a hundred cases a day when they drop cans, can you generally pop in and out there? Also how is Two Rivers?

Just did the Easton Route on Saturday, big fun, liked all three places. Sole has a separate side for growler/crowler fills, though if the place got busy, it could fill up fast. Really nice place, keeping in mind it is fairly new. The beers we had were very good, but I don't get the hype. Two Rivers is also a nice place. The Belgian Blonde had an unpleasant touch of DMS, but the Strong Golden was very good. They had a nice Stock Ale that most of the crew went for. We ate there, the food was excellent. Most everyone got burgers and raved about them. One of our party got the shrimp and grits and she inhaled them. We got to Weyerbacher about 40 minutes before they closed. A lot of beers on draft. I got something I think was called Brauheist, kind of a weizen doppelbock. Pretty much tossed me off the cliff. Place is set up for some serious drinking, but they closed at eight.
From there we hit up Funk and Yergey's in Emmaus then headed south for home.
I certainly didn't need the tripel I had for a nightcap at Tuned Up.

Go to second district in philly: sit, enjoy and talk about the beers. They have some solid bar food as well. Screw lines and trading at least to me the above would be what I prefer. Lots of unique and great beers on tap.

Forgot you could also go to crime and punishment. Same vibe there as well, and a cool menu. Reminds me of the brew cafe before the world knew about tired hands.

I would go to hidden river and load up on crowlers.

To go beer is a sometimes thing at Hidden River these days.

Plus there had been a limit on the crowlers, four I believe.

Would love to do that but most of the time it's 1pp for crowlers, which is fine but we go there enough as it is.

It's about 2.5 hours from Philly, but Burley Oak may be a good bet. They have been doing large Saturday releases w/ a tiered system to allow everyone to get something. You could also take Rt. 1 home and hit the new Dogfish Brewpub that just opened.

Yeah, this trip is awesome and one I do quite frequently. I love Burley Oak, and there is definitely some #linelife drinking and sharing going on. The new Dogfish Head pub is beautiful and has such a great selection of beers. Easily doable in a day, though I usually say screw it, let's grab a room in Rehoboth and continue the drinking.

Yeah this was another option for sure. One of our crew just went to the last release and he did it incorrectly because it was a last minute decision to head over from the beach. Been eyeing that 2nd anniversary release...
Trying to avoid that shore traffic too.

Burley Oak rocks, love the little room with the barrel aged stuff. They were playing a show from the Dead's 72 Europe tour.
Combined with some fine barrel aged beers, it was heavenly.
