Stay away from the fish sauce wings. Very reminiscent of a horrendous smell that I wont publicly compare it to because my post will get deleted.

Yikes. I love fish sauce but I would never use it as the prominent ingredient for anything. Because of its smell and high sodium levels.

Where are you getting the information from the releases? I'm having a hard time deciphering the beer menu and what joose day is hahah.

if you are on Untappd there is a separate menu called "Joose Day" that you can view and it shows what to expect. The Answer will usually update this menu on Tues and Thurs mornings. For example, the last update to the menu was this morning at 12:41am so it's a safe bet these are what they expect to have available today. What this menu does not state is which ones will be on tap when doors open at 4pm and which ones are "On-Deck" (i.e. to be added as current Joose taps kick). Outside of Untappd for a general idea there is a fb group called "Questions and The Answer" for more accurate information. For example, An or one of the staff there may post at some point today confirmation of what IPAs, Joose and sometimes a stout will be available today along with the Joose that will be available at opening along with which ones will be On-Deck.

Joose Day is Tuesdays and Thursday each week. Joose is almost always available for pours in house but these are the days of the week one can purchase them in Crowlers to go. All Joose Crowlers, regardless of the actual contents, are $20.

Thank you so much thst helps a ton!

So basially tuesday and thursday the joose day menu gets updated? Then later in the day they announce what will be on to start? And what are the back ups as stuff finishes?

Does the regular beer menu "joose crowler" section ever get updated?

    Thanks again!

    - This is fairly accurate. The fb group will often have a post of the back ups (On Deck) but not necessarily the order in which they will go on. I just noticed this but if you look at the "Answer Beers" menu on Untappd they do have a section called "On Deck" at the bottom so this is another spot to know what is on and what will be coming. They don't have this separate section for the Joose Day menu so you will have to toggle between them both. I am not sure how Untappd menus work but I would assume each menu has to be updated separately so unless add additional sections to a menu or remember to update each menu they have then best bet is to look at both.

Does the regular beer menu "joose crowler" section ever get updated?
I have actually never noticed this menu before. It could be a new heading they are working on to make things easier to follow or maybe it has been there the whole time. The website menu pulls from Untappd so that's always where I check first.

Food at Mekong is off the charts good. The Pho and Banh Mi are delicious!!! The Banh Mi at the Answer is from Mekong.

What's available for today (Joose Day). Surprised there was not an On-Deck separation in the post but per the Untappd Menu it appears the first 5 listed under Joose will be on at opening. Everything else I assume is on deck but don't quote me either way.

I traveled up the east coast and stopped at Mekong for a quick bite after a Veil release. I tried a couple of The Answer's beers and then had another one on tap at the Barrel Culture release.

The server at Mekong mentioned that The Answer doesn't brew their own beer. Is everything that they release an adjunct added to another breweries base beer?

Answer does brew their own beer. Brandon does a great job with the IPA's and Stouts, as well as the occasional berliner. The jooses and andalls are not brewed by the Answer, but rather, An takes base beers (such as Founders Imperial Stout, which is used quite a bit) and adds adjuncts to it. Same is done with the Jooses, where they may use Anderson Valley Gose and add a bunch of fruit puree to it. Hope that helps.

It does, but it seams like an awesome opportunity to collaborate and adjunct vs. private label.

Probably a lot easier (and quicker) just to just order kegs of the base from another brewery and then run whatever adjuncts they want through their Andall/Randall. I have not yet tried of the The Answer's brewed stouts but I have heard they have all been extremely good. Once they complete their expansion of the current space and get more equipment in I could see them using their own stouts and berliner they have brewed from time to time as the base for the Andalls. I think with their small scale now and mainly focusing on brewing IPAs they just do not have the capacity to brew those regularly enough or in large enough quantities to be able to support the amount of Joose and Stout Andalls they go through.

Yet another update. Sorry for the multiple posts but seems like they were still in the planning of releases and just streaming off details as they decided on them.

    - The Answer Stouts (see 2 posts above) will be tapped at The Answer beginning 4pm

    - Guest Taps (also see 2 posts above) will be tapped at 1pm.

For those not familiar with the area and locations see below. The Answer has a large parking lot so anyone could park there and easily walk around front to Mekong then back to The Answer after. Or there's a strip of spots in front of Mekond as well then you could drive around back afterwards.

3 Year Anniversary planned for Sat., Sept 16th Noon - midnight. Nothing mind blowing yet announced other than their already fantastic brewers but I expect them to drop some pretty awesome guest taps over the next couple weeks. No tickets needed. Just show up and celebrate with great beer.

^^^ 3 year anniversary ??? They just had the two year anniversary for brewing in early May. Is this to celebrate the third anniversary of when they opened?

I figured that was going to confuse and probably should have made it more clear. Apr/May is the anniversary of when they started brewing. Aug/Sept is the anniversary of the opening of the taproom (pre-brewing).
