That Coconut Horns....I keep getting let down by Horns variants, yet I keep coming back for more. Of course, being a Coconut beer fiend, this one is different. I tell myself that at least.

    Pour List for Forever Summer.

Good lineup for those who do not have regular access to the non-Veil beers or want to try something from them but for the locals I would have liked to see The Veil have something on their list that has not already been released and is not easily had at the brewery this week during normal hours. Maybe a special tap of something for Saturday. Maybe they will release some last minute surprises but for someone who is not a glass fiend and taking out of consideration the Veil beers you're paying pretty much $4.09 per 3oz pour. Including Veil you're at $2.90/3oz pour. I would assume the Teku would run $13 if they sold it so taking that out it's basically $77 for 31 pours. You're looking at $2.48/3oz pour.

Sorry big NOOB question, but I back read through a few pages and was not 100% sure. Does Veil have any cans/bottles constantly available or are they going strictly on the weekly release model? I live pretty far away (Central NJ) and am passing through on my way to VA Beach next weekend. Had planned on stopping at opening Saturday morning. Judging by previous weeks, it looks like 99% of the time everything from the weekly release is sold out by Saturday. Will check this thread on the week of, but if they have standard rotation stuff always available I will still swing by. Would love to just swing in to the tap room for a quick pint but have very limited time! Was planning on hitting a few of the other breweries right there and try to get assorted bottles/cans from some of the local places to enjoy on my trip (had penciled in Three Notchd, Ardent, and Isley as places to stop as well). Thanks and sorry if this had been answered one page earlier than I checked...

On a totally related note, when my suspicion of me getting shut out from likely getting cans from Veil is confirmed, is anybody interested in meeting me near that area (we are going to be in Maymont Park hanging for a few hours before proceeding to VA Beach) and trading some recent Veil (or other local goodies) for some NJ stuff ?

Pretty rare for veil to be left on saturday but not unheard of. Usually only 1 or 2 brands last. Dont forget out the answer which does crowlers of IPAs and Triple crossing which does can releases friday and most often has cans on saturday. Go to the downtown location as you can get crowlers too.

Coming down from Jersey for the forever summer fest, will we be able to try all of the veils offerings or just pick 1 of the 8?
Travelling solo with plenty of jersey beers to trade/share, dm for more info.

What @Henryb22 said is accurate but if you are coming into town and want to score Veil on the chance cans will be sold out next weekend and are on fb then try the groups "Behind the Veil (Trades Only)" or "RVA Tastes & Trades" and post your FT/ISO. You definitely will not have any problem grabbing pours if you show up at opening.

Along with your list of breweries to stop at I would also consider The Answer, Triple Crossing and Final Gravity. If you are a hophead then those along with Veil doing it the best in RVA along with other styles. Each also do Crowlers if you may be looking for those. And when you get to Va Beach I would check out Commonwealth Brewing. Reaver Beach is good if you are into sours. Grape & Gourmet is the best bottle shop in the area and Esoteric is a restaurant / bar t

Your Forever Summer Fest tickets include one 3oz pour of all 31 beers in the release lisrt. So you will have the opportunity to trying all 8 if you want to try to complete the cycle.

Final limits for today. No counts as they stated but refer back to the post a few days ago with what they were anticipating.

Just my .02 but with limited time, I'd hit up the places Tomcatt suggested before these three spots.
Set up an IP trade for the Veil cans you wont get on Saturday and if it doesn't work out in rva, you could probably set one up in VB when you do get here.

Wow so no case counts at all now? Its starting to feel to me like everything they do is directed more towards positioning themselves as an "in-crowd" brewery and less towards providing a good customer experience. They have already lost any benefit of the doubt or feelings of loyalty from me.

Frequent collaborations with hot-name breweries like Monkish and Trillium and just generally acting like the beer scene is a high-school popularity contest. Its hard for me to articulate but it feels like everything they do revolves around shaping their brand image to be popular with beer-collecting, instagram-posting, bottle-sharing beer nerds.

I get that, but what does that have to do with case counts?

@PaleCale pointed out last week that they plan to post the week's release details on Sunday with anticipated counts but are not going to give final counts on Tues or updates throughout the week with how much remains. Only once cans sell out

I'm not sure exactly, but I know they didn't do it to provide a better experience for their customers. Maybe they're worried that having a lot of leftover beer makes them or the beer look bad and undesired? All I'm saying is that it seems like just about everything they do now sucks in some way or another and I have no more good faith in them.
That's a shitty thing to do and I interpret it the same way I interpret breweries not dating their product or using cryptic date codes. They're attempting to hide information from their customers, its as simple as that.

I don't feel nearly as strongly as beernuts about the Veil in general, but I do agree, this decision is certainly not done with the customer in mind. Also it seems on almost every social media post they are asked about it, and I haven't seen a response giving any sort of reason/explanation. They just ignore the questions repeatedly and don't address the change.

What's left for Wednesday (8/9). No counts of course and thank goodness they lifted limits on the BA Honey. As expected, New Sun and Child Support are the slowest movers.

I really do think the not announcing what's left will have a negative effect. The people that may be thinking about coming up on Wednesday for the day after may now decide against it because they have to guess how much is left based on the limits. More varieties of cans and what's remaining will actually last longer in the week now because more people will hesitate before coming out to hopefully leave with what they came for.

What's left today (8/10)...I would take a guess and say less than 30 cases of each based on the limits. Probably much less of at least CT.

How are cans lasting? Sorry if this has been asked. I went back a few pages and didnt see. I'll be coming to RVA for my birthday and not sure if I should stop in on Saturday or Sunday if I want to get cans. I've had luck passing through on Saturdays, but was going to make The Answer my first stop before AirBnB.

All depends on what's released that week. It's not often cans make it to Saturday but it happens. And sometimes The Veil will drop a surprise Crowler release on Saturday but it's been quite a while since they did that I think. Saturday would of course be the best day IF cans are left the weekend you come in. Why chance it. The Answer is also less than 3 miles away (<10 mins) from The Veil too.

Just keep an eye out for the daily updates on their fb, IG and of course posts here.
