I am not too sure that this is the correct forum to post this in so I apologize in advance. I have a friend visiting Colorado in a few weeks. Are there any must try beers (bourbon barrel stouts, IPAs, etc) that anyone could suggest which I can not acquire in New York? Any help is appreciated thanks I saw the threads about both IPAs and Stouts already but I'm looking for ones that I can. To acquire on the east coast. If the moderators feels that ''tis is a repeat thread because of both those others please delete and my apologies.
Weldwerks Crowlers, Cerebral Crowlers. Odd 13 Cans Dry Dock BA Stouts Epic Big Bad Baptist / Son of a Baptist
The great divide 12oz with three diff beers barrel aged and some come with glass ..yeti .. old ruffian ., ba hibernation
Thanks already to you guys for the info......I also wanted to know are there any mid west or west coast beers that can be acquired in Colorado not available in NY? Same type of beers ? Prairie possibly. ?
Prairie is available in CO, however don't expect any of the BA stouts. Those tend to go fast when they drop.
Yeah, the only Prairie stouts around right now are Bomb! and maybe some Birthday Bomb! You'd do fine with only Colorado beers, but within your parameters of IPAs and stouts, I'd look for Melvin (already mentioned), Fremont, La Cumbre, Russian River, and Port Brewing as far as non-Colorado options go.
Thanks im asking because a friend is going and I want to give a few specifics to see if he can grab a couple to come back with on plane......appreciate the help
If you like old ales and barleywines, you definitely gotta snag that Great Divide pack @wyoming mentioned above. BA stout, BA old ale, BA barleywine, plus a neat glass. Besides those, the shelves are a little bit slim pickin' in the summer for barrel aged big beers around these parts.
There may be a better place to find this info but I figured I would ask here. Is there anywhere I could find what's available to go from trve, or were Is the best place to find trve, driving through denver and wanting to get as big of a variety from trve
Go to TRVE's website. They list available beers there (including bottles....in on tap section) as well as stores to buy their stuff from (I have gone to Grapevine).
does it have to be packaged for off-premise sale? By which I mean, what about growlers or crowlers from Comrade, Cannonball Creek, or Cerebral? i would run by Fiction and pick up a couple of their canned offerings too. In terms of commercially available stuff I wouldn't sleep on Crank Yanker or Epic Day from Eddyline, or Four Noses Proboscis Simcoe or Bout Damn Time. The above is pretty IPA- / hoppy APA-heavy. For balance, how about a handful of the Avery barrel series singles?
