Sorry man, I just left about fifteen minutes ago. The new batch of the Snooch is pretty damn good, though

This is a legit question and one that we discussed at length. The answer is "yes".

We have core brands in the market and the NEIPAs are a good way to say thank you to the retailers who support us. I also like the fact that it exposes us to more drinkers. Not everyone can make special arrangements to be at a brewery during a very small window.

    Speaking of small windows...

    THANK YOU!

Really, thanks so much for supporting us and putting down your hard earned money to do so. I'm surprised and humbled by how fast this sold out.

Cracked open a can of this most recent batch of Snoochie and I have to say this is my favorite Forbidden Root beer. Hands down awesome. Surpasses Radio Swan and Stay Lit for me. Unreal.

Congrats on the successful release @BJP and @KrajDoesBeer ! So what's the topic for next Monday's meeting...how would a couple new fermenters look next to the bar?

I couldn't get out there tonight, so I'm doing the next best thing and drinking a howler of Radio Swan. And I'll definitely be in soon to try the new Ghost Tropic and fill up some of these empties.

Great release last night. Obviously I'm a little biased since @KrajDoesBeer and I are good friends, but the line moves quickly and @BJP makes incredible beer. That's a killer combo.

The only thing that sucks is how fast it sells out. I think their answer to the "still distro?" question is a fine one. I'm sure consumers and fans will fall on both sides of that argument (with a lot of their "side" depending on their location and schedule). I imagine this is similar to what a brewery like Tree House was dealing with 2 breweries ago (size-wise, pre-national hype, etc.).

It's funny that we were just having similar discussions in the general NE IPA thread (and on the Corridor one, actually). This is exactly what I'm worried about for the big local releases in general. Those of us who were early on the NE bandwagon have been spoiled by all this access to the great beer that's started coming out of the area, and now too many people are catching on!

I really appreciate BJ's stance on distro since I don't always find it easy to make it down to FR but can really easily hit one of the places they send their beer. If it's selling out so quickly at FR itself, maybe that's the answer; have a release at the brewery, but send some out to local beer shops so that those serious enough about the beer have a second shot at it.

was not expecting a line like that, but was able to get some. pretty smooth process overall.

I will say, for future releases, I don't think people at the bar or folks there as regular patrons should be able to buy the cans directly from their server/bartender.

I saw many people saddle up to the bar, buy one beer, and add 4 packs on to their tab, while the rest of us were waiting in a line which grew ever longer. if you came for the special release, wait in line like everyone else, then carry on with the rest of your evening.

not to mention, this also puts an extra burden on the bartenders (who were slammed as is) and slows down service for everyone, as they had to leave the bar area to procure said 4 packs.

    just my thoughts, @KrajDoesBeer @BJP

It works out great for all of the people there to spend more money than just the 4 packs though.

For example. At RS release. at the bar at 5 had two pints and dinner. Just bought my 4 packs straight from the bar tender. Much easier.

This is what GI Clybourn would do with releases....advantage goes to the people already there drinking and eating, not those just showing up....So basically if you want a shot at a release you have to get there early and pay for other stuff (food/drinks)....

Yep. This worked great for me for the first SB release. EDIT: I was actually surprised that I didn't need to get in line and thought it was a nice perk and really convenient that I could just put it on my existing tab.

Unfortunately for me, I'm going to be back on a proper working man's schedule here in a week, so no mid-week releases or Monday night beer discussions for this guy for a while...

The counter argument to that is that those serious enough about the beer will make it to the brewery. That's where Tree House fell.

FWIW, I'm not taking a side in this.

I was on my way to FR when I saw their FB post they they had sold out! Turned back around and went home and drank my last Snoochies can.
Maybe I'll be able to get some once it hits distro.
    Either way great Job guys!

    That is great to hear!
Only our 3rd can release and my first With FR. We let people that had a bar seat or a table BEFORE 6 o'clock get cans. They were all eating and drinking for a while. We aren't making people get other beer and food. They are choosing to do so. We have great other awesome beer and awesome food(obviously bias!) so why would we make people leave their seat to get cans?

We will keep adjusting to be better release to release. More staff or a different location to buy cans... We will see.

Thanks for all that came out!!!

    Kraj
