In my experience it has been pretty reasonable.

Just bought a ticket to the Safe House event. Still had 84 tickets left.

If anyone attending MD is interested in crowlers from Boiler Brewing Co. or White Elm Brewing in Lincoln, NE, I'll be stopping by their taprooms this Saturday; shoot me a PM with what you're interested in and I'll see what I can do. I'll be at the Winneshiek Friday + Saturday night and will probably grab a few to bring to C&C as well.

Just cancelled a room at the Super 8 for Friday and Saturday. Just an FYI

Just picked up a couple dated 7/26 and cracked one open. Have to say it went flat very quickly. Still tastes decent, not quite what I remember. I'd give it a meh.

Stayed at Super 8 for MD 2016 and it got the job done. Remember to carry cash for cabs as the brewery isn't close to Super 8 and Uber wasn't a factor (last October anyways)

Somehow $130 a night for a Super 8 just doesn't seem like a good move to me.

    @DecorahNM

I am interested in the bottle share for Saturday and you said same format as the last two C&C shares. What is the format you have used for the last two bottles shares as I plan to come to this. Any information you can provide on this share will be helpful.

My least favorite batch, by far.

Their batch variation is so strange to me. Like, the batch a few months ago had to have been the juiciest, best version of King Sue I've had yet. And now I'm hearing a lot of lackluster reports about this batch. I wonder what has changed?

It doesn't seem that much different to me, but I'm not a King Sue enthusiast either.

I try pretty much every batch hoping to have the gaga reaction that everyone else does, but it's always in the realm of "pretty good" to me. Never more, nor less.

Pretty simple format the last times. $20 cash cover charge to get in. Gets you a taster and some tickets to use for their beers on draft (they have an awesome lineup of stuff usually including Forager, Prairie, Crooked Stave, and TG). You are free to come and go as you please then as you will get a wrist band. Bring what you want in and you are also free to grab anything else you'd like throughout the day from your cooler if you have one in your car, etc. Tickets are also able to be used on food as well.

I get a better reaction with Sosus. But I like mosaic hops. I like DDH versions of Sue, Pompeii, and said Sosus better than The King. I wouldn't turn away The King, if offered one. Just an opinion.

Had the KS 7/26 yesterday. It had low carbonation very little lacing, twas not as juicy and had a bitter finish. This was unlike any batch i ever had.

Weird... Well, hopefully I'll be able to pick some up today since it just dropped. Sometimes having an 8-5 job sucks :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope you get some. It was relatively easy to get yesterday after work. Let me know what you think of it.

Plan on attending your event starting at 10am 8/19. I know there is a spreadsheet floating around, however I have never been to a public bottle share to this magnitude. What is the etiquette......obviously you need to contribute a bottle of some degree to the overall share to receive any tastings in return from other sharers? Obviously walking around with an empty taster with a sign saying "fill my glass" wont work, although I have heard stories regarding the last two "epic" shares.

Any info would be helpful. Thanks and cheers!

C&C has always been a great place to meet new people and share bottles. If you bring a bottle to a table and offer pours, you'll often get people offering you pours in return. Frankly, I'd suggest walking up to a group and striking up a conversation or just asking if you can join them. Most everyone I've interacted with at C&C would be more than happy to have a new person join in the group. The only real etiquette is don't "demand" pours of beers (especially bigger bottles), and if someone says no, just move on. Also, don't open someone else's beer, or take pours out of beer without an owner attached to it.

My last few big shares I've opened up bottles and only offered pours to people that haven't tried the beer before (Morning Delight, Assassin, BA Abraxas, etc.), but I mention that when people ask for some.
