Lol, how am I a huge asshole? I've seen releases where priority goes to people sitting down, paying for food and beer. They have the ear of the bartender and servers before the line up only people even get a shot. Beer sold out in 2 hours? How much is that down from? How many people here said they missed out? What is the result? People arrive earlier and it sells out faster next time. Then people start showing up for tables so they can get priority. I'm just saying, if conducted like this, it will get to the point where you have to be at a table to get the 4packs....but I guess that makes me a huge asshole pointing it out....

 

Dude, there are a limited number of tables. FR can't possibly sell out of their beer to those people sitting at tables.

You're a huge asshole because you want to sit down at a table and not order anything for an hour and somehow think that's okay.

If you showed up at 5 and got a table or showed up at 5 and got in line, you got beer. If you showed up at 5:30 and got a table or showed up at 5:30 and got in line, you got beer. If you showed up at 6, there were no tables available, but if you got in line, you got beer. Get it?

 

At the Radio Swan release I got there about 5pm, had dinner, drinks, and had mentioned to my server that we were there for the can release. At 6pm he remembered, came and asked how many four packs we were ordering, and brought them over shortly after. It was excellent customer service and extremely easy, and I got to eat and drink some Atomic Childs to boot.

This time for Snoochie I had to be in and out, got there at 5:45, got in line, got my cans and was out the door fast. Seemed like anyone that was there on time and wanted cans, whether at tables, at the bar, or in line, got some. I would imagine they have taken into account the amount of possible table/bar orders for cans vs line (there is limited bar and table seating), and there is a stack of four packs behind the bar, stack of four packs at the front hosting counter as well.

I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing, and so far it is working great and smoothly.

 

There's shitty people in the craft beer scene? Weird.

 

I 100% am on board with being able to buy from the bar. In addition to incentivizing people that eat, drink, and spend money at bar, you're also increasing tabs by $16 a 4-pack, which means the possibility of greater tips for the servers.

Sure, not everyone tips on retail purchases, but many do, (or will split the difference) so you're also adding extra money to the servers pockets on top of what food and drinks were ordered.

I don't see any downside, outside of a few possible upset people, and they were only going to hug retail and leave any way. Take care of the people that are going along care of the business in multiple ways.

I hope everyone makes it to the bottle share! I have a profound sense that people will like each other much more in person while sharing beer.

But I agree with Chris - as loyal, early adopters and rabid, unruly fanboys, you should probably make a sweet mug club and let us put down early deposits for future BA beers and mega-hop-bombs (name suggestions "Care package from Kim Jong-hop").

Will certainly say hi next time. Saw you running around but you looked like you had your hands full. We stuck to radio swan and atomic child this time, but i was super impressed with industry night last time I was there. A very unique beer. Atomic Child is a hit for me, looking forward to that one getting into cans as well. Thanks @KrajDoesBeer and @BJP. Also hope those bottle shares/seminars end up happening!

 

Plenty of Snoochie Boochies and Radio Swan at Garfields in Bucktown. LP binny's said they didn't get any, won't get any, and/or it already came and went. Because #AlternativeFacts!
