Double Hopped War Elephant

I think @MacMalt will back me up that the new double hopped batch of War Elephant is the hoppiest beer to be released in recent memory. Do not drink this before drinking any other beers, you won't taste those other beers. Extremely delicious with a hop bill that will blow the doors off your palate.

Also, the Galaxy RD&D is off the charts tasty. Another home run from RD.

 

Agree 100%. My taste buds are still recovering! I'll post on War Elephant later tonight on WBAYD.

Just want to reiterate, try the WE last! I did not heed the advice, have no idea what the beer I tasted next was like.

And I really enjoyed the R+D Galaxy as well.

 

I think it was too much. I know that is heresy. But I would rather have regular War Elephant.

Now Make Chester Cool Again is A++++

 

That's what's I had after the WE, wish I could have tasted it. Will have to stop back while it's still on.

I agree on the WE, much prefer the regular version. I did pickup a four pack however, interested in seeing how it may change over time.

 

I agree with you that this version of War Elephant is over the top. I was a bit overwhelmed by it at the brewery but when I leisurely sipped a can at home last night I was amazed by the smell and the depth of the fruit, caramel, and bitterness. I actually rated it higher than Heady. All that said, I'll never turn my nose up at a regular WE.

I agree with you re Chester! Did you try the RDR&D Galaxy?

 

I have to thank @cavedave and @MacMalt for the pro tip. Without prior warning I would have started with War Elephant.
Instead I had a chance to thoroughly enjoy Dad's Breath and LMCCA. Both of which are incredibly well made and great beers.

As an aside I enjoyed seeing 2 first timers that came for Hazy WE cans. They were a little taken aback by the lack of a line and the "Help Yourself from the cooler" response. There's a generation of beer drinkers that are just expectant of lines.

 

Bought a 4 pack of R&D but didn't get a pour. I was limited by time and B. A. C. Probably try it tonight. With WE I felt like I should be picking hops from my teeth. I got a 4pack to go.

 

When were you there? I made my first trip there today. Had a baby elephant as i hadnt eaten all day and i thought that was pretty well made. Got 2 R+Ds and 2 WE to go, just had an R+D and its pretty good, gonna try the WE in a bit as my last offering

Also, definitely tricky to find via google maps. I mustve drove around that little circle 3 times looking at every door for a brewery thing until realized it was down the little hill to the right

 

I did the same thing first time there as well.
I was there about 4 to 430.

Just drank an R&D. Exceptional beer.

 

Mustve been there about the same time. I think I got there around 415, were you there with a woman?
