Love that they care about their customers enough to try something like this versus other places that act like there is nothing they can do to avoid a shit show.

Love that they took their MIT backgrounds and solved line issues. This is why we teach our kids to study hard. Haha

We will see how this weekend goes. There are always going to be people who are upset. I dont think rewarding people for sitting outside a brewery is the answer though.

Yeah I would really respect a brewery that wants to put a stop to the line sharing, saturday morning drunk culture. I get rewarding customers for lining up early for your product but only if its an actual chore and not some excuse to rationalize your alcoholism.

Lines are fine as long as they don't devolve to a point that it affects the neighbors or makes the entire craft scene look bad.

But given the response to past releases, why not start off at 1/2 case limits?

Sounds like you could theoretically get your ticket at 7 AM go for an hour and a half hike in Harriman State Park and make it back into line well before they open. Its almost the opposite of encouraging people to hang around in line. Very cool idea.

I like the idea too. But I think the point above was that if limits are dropped, the people who got there earlier will have their allotments dropped less. Which I sort of get, but also don't at the same time

While I applaud these guys for trying a new approach to handling the line/allocation thing (and for producing a fantastic product), I can't help but to think of the captain lawrence clusterfuck when I see a deli ticket dispenser associated with a beer release.

I'm glad they're actively trying to improve the process... but if they're doing an actual deli ticket dispenser, I hope it's being actively monitored to prevent people from taking multiple tickets, which would make line cutting even easier.

Pretty sad that without an irremovable bracelet strapped on we can't expect people to behave like human beings. Definitely should be some guys in trench coats and fake glasses going up for 2nd tickets though.

Been on this planet and around the craft beer scene long enough to expect the absolute worst in people... and they've yet to disappoint.

Basically what I said they need to be monitoring to avoid happening... a guy shows up early and grabs a bunch of extra tickets. Right as brewery opens for sales, people who think they are reasonably close to the front are suddenly overrun by guys rolling up to claim the extra tickets their buddies grabbed from the dispenser.

I haven't had any of their beers or been to a release. Hoping to sometime soon!

And like others, its good to see they are trying something. But not sure this will work. Think it will just push those who want more to get there earlier and earlier.

Since they said "We don’t want people to get less than 2 4-packs ", why not just make that the limit? Or just make it a 3 4-pk limit? I get these breweries want to sell out in a day and create hype. But on the flip side, they also want to get it in the hands of more people. I think 2-3 4pks of one beer is more than enough. Obviously, if you could produce more, than you can raise limits.

Just my .02. Would like to see a brewery like Equilibrium and OH really do Tree House limits and kill the lines that have been going there and make it more accessible to more people. Not that Tree House lines have gone down!

That's true, but since Tree House limits are so "low" they can burn through a line like nobodies business. When is the last time they were offering 6pp Haze and someone was like "no thanks, I just want 3."

You walk up, they hand you pre-sorted beer and you pay. If Equilibrium had limits of 2-3 4pk you could probably safely assume most people will max out. You can have lots of it pre-packaged and just make it that much faster.

Apparently they cut the limits from 6 to 5 before the release even started. I got there at 1, waited 5 mins and got 3. Sold out less than 30 mins later. They also had someone handing out the deli tickets; You couldn't just grab one.
