That's ridiculous, Bruery stouts are amazing. All their bourbon barrel aged stuff is killer.

I definitely plan to renew. I may not buy quite as much as I used to, given that there are now additional high quality options and like all good beer geeks I'm well trained to seek the greatest variety of beers possible. But in my opinion and the opinion of my friends I share beers with, the Bruery still puts out some excellent stuff. Plus the Anniversary Party is always a great time, as it was this year.

You pretty much reiterated my exact answer(s) to the survey they just sent out.

I'm spending somewhere around $250 - $300 a month total in beer purchases. So $300 a year for the option to buy what I want from the comfort of my laptop, is an easy decision. I get the value just from the $300 in beer that comes with the membership, then I have the choice to buy what I want throughout the year. That's all gravy.

I could see if $300 was a hardship and you didn't like the beers that came with the membership, you might make a different decision.

I spent about 2x to 3x more last year when I was in Preservation than now that I'm in Reserve.

Still up in the air if I want to rejoin, havent bought anything since mid-March. I still go to the tasting room and keep up with new beer but nothing that I really want, yet. Still waiting for the Cascade collab.

I personally don't understand the (seemingly high, but more likely a vocal minority) volume of RS/HS members saying they are going to walk away. Like a lot of you, my purchases vs. prior years are way down. But, I'm still typically buying 2-4 bottles a month and my dad usually snags 1-2 off my membership as well. The anniversary is a fantastic beer event and makes for a great trip each year.

Ultimately, there are times I think about walking away. But if nothing else, you renew for the $300 and for me, at least, I'm going to get ~10 beers I won't be disappointed with. Bare minimum I take those bottles, attend the anniversary party, and remain happy with my membership. At this point any other beers that come out that are new/awesome is just icing on the cake.

Did everyone hate Gerburtztagkranz? I probably spelled that incorrectly, but I loved it. Totally wish I had bought more bottles.

my plan is to make lofty statements about how I'm not going to renew and then still renew

On 8/2. Was a kind of "state-of-your-membership" survey with questions about what your favorite releases from each label have been, whether you would recommend people join a society and why, etc. etc.

Loved Gerburtztagkranz...even if pronouncing it is impossible (to me). MASH and Spumoni is freaking amazing if you haven't tried it...you really need to.

I am 50/50, if the included beers are good, I am in. If they don't sound interesting I will probably be out. This years included beers have all been great. The remainder of the beers for purchase haven't been that interesting outside of a few. The included glass was nice, but I wouldn't pay for it, but the opener sucked.
BTW, what happened to sour in the rye this year? I would love some great variants.

I really hope they take the feedback from the forums on the Opener quality (bad) and the growler (bad) quality for next year's membership consideration. That will definitely keep me in, like most people are saying, 300 pays for the beers included and the rest is gravy.

Well, I hope they take SOME of the advice we offer - maybe not all of it - people have a tendency to melt down over some pretty inconsequential shit.

One way they could entice more people to keep their RS/HS memberships might be permanent "front of the line" status on Off-Shoot cans, even if you miss a couple releases in a row. That was a sore spot for a lot of folks that could be easily rectified while providing added incentive to stay on board.

The Offshoot beers being bad was also a sore spot

I mean, yeah, but I'm trying to offer a somewhat objective innovation to retain customers. Regardless of the quality of previous releases I'm sure Bruery loyalists (isn't that what you are if you're RS/HS?) would at least be tempted by the ability to have first crack at cans whenever they want. Can you imagine the salt if they - gasp! - started to consistently release awesome IPAs and *DIDN'T* offer something along these lines?

Any of you quitters looking to offload your Bruery cellars and by chance have some Fruet? I'd totally take every bottle you have.

Not that it would change my mind on not renewing my membership but this really irked me. They should have given us front of the line status on offshoot as RS/HS members. The fact we can lose our spot in this imaginary line if we miss 2 releases is stupid. That should have been a perk of being a member but nope they decided against it. Back to Modern Times I go. I've missed out on the last 2 MT releases and guess what, I still have first dibs on the next release. Such a revolutionary idea!

No one from offshoot has ever addressed their subpar beers either. When you have a general consensus saying your beers are overpriced and the beer itself sucks, you should probably 1. Fix things and 2. Address the issue.
