I would assume he means they are going to start brewing in Miskatonic's space since the Hop Butcher was co-located with Aquanaut who went under...

Well, the offerings from the breweries do and have evolved so rankings can change.

El Dorado is not typically my jam. It's super hit or miss for me. Curiosity Twenty Five (featuring El Dorado) was probably in my bottom 2 or 3 Tree House beers, for example.

A couple of friends who I trust didn't enjoy Skrap Metal but I'll look for a can and give it a shot.

I think it's got enough citra that the el dorado doesn't mess it up too much (I'm pretty much in the "citra, mosaic, galaxy or gtfo" camp with NE stuff, sadly). The finish has slightly more bitterness than I can see some people liking, but it's more balanced than the last few HB beers (exception being GB, which is a different yeast, so doesn't count). I'm wondering if a few weeks on it will help the people that don't enjoy it.

Plus, when you're 3 Gummy Vortex's into your Thursday night, you tend to get a little forgetful about past rankings (Speaking for a friend of course).

Yea, it definitely has a more pronounced (compared to others in the style) bite - but I liked that.

Like @SeanBond said, I got more citra than Eldorado - but everyone's tastes are different so maybe it won't work for you. Still - its worth trying a can.

I'd still give Transient the slight edge to Corridor / FR at this point. They are incredibly consistent and Juice is Loose is still probably the best beer any of these three have produced. Not to mention that NEIPAs are only one of a handful of styles they do well.

I figure we'll do it about as often as people complaining about the discussion topics in this thread

What if its a Transient/18th St. Collab brewed at 18th St.?

I liked the Chicago JiL (only one I've had) about as much as Squeezit (maybe a tiny edge to Squeeze), but if Transient's other stuff is on par, I can see your argument.

I also found DDH PseudoSue and Check 1,2 to be relatively similar to JiL (which is a good thing).

This is correct. They had to find a new space and miskatonic is close to where one of the Hop butcher guys lives.

Thanks for responding. Trying to plan which ones I should focus more space for. Of course I will only buy what tastes amazing when I am there if I can try it.

Would have to disagree on JIL. They're actually quite inconsistent from batch to batch and I think it's been pretty easily passed by Forbidden Root and Corridor's best offerings.

Also, a lot of Transient's other pales/IPAs are hit or miss. Some are good to very good and others are average.

This is what I'd heard, and is the only thing that helps soften the blow that I can't drink the stuff more often.

Climbing Through Windows from More is tasty. The carb seems higher than it should be, and the mouth feel needs work, but the flavor is great. Juicy, tropical fruit for sure - not mind blowing overall though.

DDH Dusty is fire. Dangerously drinkable at 6% - I'll be leaving with a crowler of this for sure

Agreed. I've had some batches of JIL that blow me away and others that are extremely disappointing (not old cans either).

Were any of the disappointing one recent? The ones I had were early 2017 and I remember Chris writing something about experimenting with using later generations of yeast on those. Everything I've has since has been consistent, I've thought.

To be fair, no. I haven't had a JIL in quite a while. It's not the easiest for me to obtain, so once I had a few bad batches, I just moved on. I'll be sure to give it another shot now though because I did really enjoy it when it was on.

I felt similarly, but would recommend it. Though, Mind to Devour is my current favorite hoppy beer from Transient, if you get the chance.

Yeah, see, I didn't really enjoy that as much as I thought I would. Citra/Mosaic and I usually dig the rye. Something was just lacking for me. I'd take Radio Swan over Mind to Devour in a second and that even had El Dorado...

Both were great for me, radio swan is also my favorite of the style from FR.
