Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I didn't get to visit nearly as many places as I would have liked as my time in the area was tight. I had a fantastic lunch at Daughters - for such an unassuming looking place, their tap list was incredible and the sandwiches were top notch. I chatted with the 2 guys working there about beer and they couldn't have been nicer. Drove down to Plan Bee, picked up my order, had some samples and chatted a bit. Then up to Suarez Family. The pils was great, the woman there who must be Mrs. Suarez? was so friendly, and I brought home a slew of growlers to last me this week...

All in all great beer, and the hospitality of the whole area really stood out to me. It was cool that all the people at the places I stopped at knew each other and had nothing but good things to say. Looking forward to my next trip to the Hudson Valley.

Thanks for this info--hit Catskill Mountain Pizza for something quick to eat after our ride up on Friday. Good food and service and a nice beer selection. Got to Beer World on the way home today and found a few nice things to bring back with me. Also stopped at The Dutch Ale House in Saugarties on Saturday. While their beer was nothing special, they had a number of other local offerings on tap that I enjoyed a couple of. Food was good as well.

Hudson Valley Craft Beer Week thought long and hard about what would make for a great craft beer event for everyone in the Hudson Valley (and beyond). We thought "how can we bring together craft breweries and the community that supports it?" With that question in mind, we bring you "HARVEST" - a one-time marketplace of great (and rare) local beer.

Normally you have to go to each brewery on a specific date to be able to purchase rare bottle releases not found in stores. We decided to make it easy for you and we have brought in a selection of our Hudson Valley Breweries under one roof at Newburgh Brewing Company. On September 18th, for one day and one day only, you have the opportunity to buy a large assortment of rare beer from Hudson Valley breweries.

So all you have to do is show up!!! Grab a bottle or two from Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, and then a few bottlings from Defiant.. Trade them for some Rushing Duck cans, or Newburgh Brewing, or Keegan, or Broken Bow, or more. Trade with your friends, make new friends, drink beers... not a bad day at all!!

On top of that we are working with local vendors who will be selling their Hudson Valley products. Roadie's Food Truck will be parked outside for the morning serving delicious breakfast

Come celebrate all the amazing beer that is being brewed in the Hudson Valley!

Was in Woodstock over the weekend. Catskill Mountain Pizza wanted $12 for a can of SingleCut. Granted it was DDH Is this Real Life, but come on!

Kind of surprised no one mentioned them yet, but Hudson Valley Brewery was my favourite brewery stop when I was travelling in the Hudson Valley a few weeks ago. The nice thing is that you can get crowlers of almost anything on tap. Personally thought it was better than Sloop and Suarez (I know it's blasphemy to say that).

Probably because the brewery was still being built the last time this thread was active.

Headed up in a few to hit Suarez and a few other breweries. But need help with restaurants/food. Anything besides Mill House?

I'm not sure how far you're traveling from, but on this side of the river I'd say Mill House and Peekskill are your best bets (and an hour apart). Schatzi's in Poughkeepsie (walking distance from Mill House) isn't a bad option either. And if you don't care about food and beer in the same place, Beacon has a ton of options.

I ate at Mill House. Food was pretty damn good. I agree with an earlier comment that the prices run high, but at least everything was delicious. Also had the kolsch there and it was on point.

Checked out Plan Bee afterwards and then headed up to Suarez. It's been a nice afternoon.

I just did a trip like this but no one mentioned Diciccios grocery store for beer. They have huge selection of local and non local stuff. Picked up some lawsons and Industrial arts. They have plan Bee too. Also had some Hill Farmstead on tap while my family shopped.

    Bumping this.

Headed to Woodstock next month from NYC. Planning to hit Hudson Valley and Newburgh on the way up. Suarez and Sloop while there.

Other random stops include Wold Beer and The Anchor in Kingston as well as Gaskins in Germantown.

Any others I should add to the list?

I would do it this way. Hit Newburgh, then cross Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Rt. 84 and hit Hudson Valley, get back on 84 east after that and get off on Rt. 9 north, hit Half Time bottle shop which is on 9, hit Plan Bee which is accessible from 9, head north on 9, hit Grand Cru Beer and Cheese in Rhinbeck, Gaskins in Red Hook, Suarez, then Sloop. Swing back south, cross Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge, skip Beer World, hit The Anchor, and head west on 28 to Woodstock.

Awesome itinerary, although I'm surprised you didn't suggest Rushing Duck en route to Newburgh. Also, depending on what route you take, you could hit Industrial Arts and/or District 96 (neither of which I've yet to hit, but both of which I've heard good things about) on the way up.

Finally, depending on what days you are doing what, you might want to flip the itinerary since I'm pretty sure some places have pretty limited hours.

Definitely agree that would be awesome. Kinda figured I was already putting too much on their plate, and if you take Thruway to Newburgh theoretically you could do all I suggested with some proper time management.

You def. need to get to District 96 they are making the best IPA in NY right now IMO, food is great at Burger Loft next door, and the tap room is awesomely designed and run by the nicest folks imaginable.

    Good lookin.

Wife is probably going to only tolerate two stops on the way up from the city. Which are your top two in the lower Hudson (with takeaway options, ideally crowlers/cans)? I'll be headed up on a Friday, early afternoon. Perhaps best to hit these spots headed south on Sunday afternoon as it appears most don't open until late afternoon on Fridays.

Well Rushing Duck and Suarez are my two favorite locals, and they are not at all convenient to each other. But you could hit Rushing Duck and Equilibrium (excellent brewery with nice attached restaurant) and if wife is okay with it also hit Beer King beverage store, and Eddie's Roadhouse (arguably best tap list in area) pretty easily, then stay west to get north to Woodstock by a variety of routes.
