Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Should be another typical day over here. Bottle returns, laundry, and a bit of catch up work for tomorrow. I got a really nice new beer haul yesterday, so I will be set for a couple more weeks on reviews.

Awesome IPA! Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, lime, melon, green pepper, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some light honey, toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness. Moderately dry and sticky/resinous finish, with balancing grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Never astringent on bitterness, and very bright on hop flavors. I love this stuff. It showcases a lot of the unique characteristics of Equinox hops in the flavor profile, along with the citrus/rind/piney notes of the C hops that are there. Big fan of Equinox.

2015 is tasting insane as usual. Flavors of caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light notes of molasses, vanilla, and coconut. Light balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness. Minimal warming ABV or barrel booziness. Very smooth sipping; with a very creamy, silky, and slightly slick/syrupy full body mouthfeel. Touch of drying bourbon/oak tannins. Love this the most after at least 1 year of age to smooth out the boozy barrel notes. Perfectly balanced. Grabbed 2 more packs of 2015 off the shelf earlier in the year. Glad that this just sits on the shelf, one of my favorite cellar beers ever. I finally had Cinnsanity a couple weeks ago, and I think it is just as impressive.

11.6% batch of BBA Tree Bucket. Fantastic! Flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, and floral/grassy hops; with moderate cracker, white bread malts; with lighter notes of toffee, honey, banana, clove, bubblegum, and pine. Light-moderate peppery yeast, bourbon/oak tannin spice, and pine/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus bodied. Balanced grainy malt, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Increasing bitter/spicy dryness, with no astringency. Very mildly warming, no barrel booze. Love this just as much as the base beer. Perfectly balanced between yeast, hop, and bourbon barrel complexity; with just enough pale malts to pull it all together. This year's Tree Bucket is much paler on color and less malty than I remember in the past. One of my favorite Belgian DIPAs.

The 2015 batch is tasting amazing! Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; lighter notes of raisin, prune, fig, date, coconut, and licorice. Lightly balancing roast bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Dangerously smooth with a creamy, silky, velvety full bodied mouthfeel. Touch of slick/syrupy notes, bourbon/oak tannins, and chalky roast character. Enormous barrel presence, but perfectly balanced malt complexity. This was really hot and boozy fresh, but is perfect right now. The 2017 batch was less boozy fresh, despite the higher label ABV. Still have another bottle of the newer batch, which was very limited. Hope they make it again next year. This has a lot of similarities to Bourbon County on the level of barrel presence and overall flavor profile.

    Bright brew for a bright morning . . .

Brilliant shimmering light gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet honeyish malt with flowery hops and a touch of orange zest.

Flavor is relatively mild with some depth. Sweet bready malt on entry. Not complicated but decidedly not simple with a malt forward approach that carries to the finish with sweet floral touches in the aftertaste. I like this one.

Had this last night. Crikey what a hangover, I might have to have meself a beer to put out this fire. At the very least this wasn't the slightest bit skunked and was pretty good over all. I've never had Mickey's before and Malt Liquor enthusiasts (yes, they do exist) are always raving about this stuff.

Saw some brewers mention they liked having this style of beer for breakfast so thought I'd try my last one of these to see--it may not have aged as well as I thought it would but still nice.

But I'm all about that groundwork, so...

I'm returning to a formula used with much success in the past...

More details over at SalmonAdvocate.com... *fake*

    And now we're in business...
Mmm... I can tell you its good, but if you want more than that, you'll haveta head over to NBS for the details - but ya gotta give me a few minutes to organize my thoughts - they're more scattered than Margaery Tyrell's remains after Cersei Lannister immolated the Great Sept of Baelor with wildfire... *eyes roll freely to back of head*
    [IMG]
I do so miss seeing Natalie Dormer on the show...

Yes, it's that day of the week again, BA, when the House Stark avatar appears, signaling that the Game is afoot... Episode 5 tonight, and only two more remain after that before another long year of waiting... We had to wait so long for this season, only to see it move so fleetingly toward its conclusion... You can tell the show writers are flying solo, and rushing toward the close, with George R. R. Martin more removed now that the show is ahead of his novels - causes me some grief, as its gotten a little sloppy, but hopefully Dan and Dave remain true to George's end-game results...
Aren't they all cute? Yeah, well here's a dose of reality for all you working-class-types, and by that, I mean all of you not employed as full-time professional actors or athletes...

Of course it's all fun and games with that kind of income!

    Cheers...

And there I was trying to log on to the SalmonAdvocate forum. I heard their debates about the New England style smoked salmon get pretty worked up about sediment issues.
