Olde Hickory Brewery, Lindley Park 2014

    I have had a bottle of Lindley Park from Olde Hick Brewery shelved for 3 years now .... bottled in early 2014. The question is ... has anyone aged this beer and if so, what are thoughts on chilling it and capping it? Turning 50 tomorrow and it is tempting to cap it and see what I've been aging.

    Man I loooved Lindley Park when I had it probably back in '15. I would wager the raspberry would have faded on its fruity tones right now, maybe left some acidic bite behind.

    It ain't going to get any better, and you only turn 50 once. Open it up and enjoy I say. Just make sure you do it right and drink it with breakfast- cuz you know it's your birthday :slight_smile:

    We had friends over last night and shared it. I let it chill for 6 hours and then we allowed it to 'breathe' a bit. The pour was black, with minimal head. Aromas of oak and chocolate met the nose, with almost no hint of fruit or acidity until it had warmed up. The honey was almost an afterthought, as was the raspberry at this point.
    @ of us (me included) loved it. 2 ... not so much.
    Honestly it would have been the pour of the eve if we had not gotten to a dbl ipa from Bearded Iris that stole the show.
    All in all ... amazing beer. Sadly, its gone. I have a 2015 and 2016 bottle still shelved. Almost did a small vertical flight, but we had so many to try, it would have been a waste.

    Great beer- only ever had it on the fresh side... might have to see if my brother can snag a couple for me to age sometime.

    Just drank a EH '15 bottle a few nights ago. As good as it was fresh. Very under-rated stuff!
