Brews for New Avenues 2017 - August 19

    The 6th annual Brews for New Avenues will take place on Saturday August 19th at Left Bank Annex.

    Once again we have some special things planned for this year:
    • Diverse taplist including unique one-off beers generously donated by our favorite breweries.
    • Special guest Pierre Tilquin will be here for the event, bringing special kegs and bottles with him.
    • Live Auction, featuring exclusive bottles from Cantillon (shown above), Drie Fonteinen, and many other, plus new this year, the "Ultimate Six Pack" - six very special 3-liter bottles from our friends at Block 15, Hair of the Dog, Great Notion, The Commons, Upright, and Wolves and People.
    • Silent auction and Wall of Beer, bigger and better than ever!
    • Access to special collaboration beers, such as the de Garde/AltBrau beer Avenue No. 3 (http://www.altbrau.com/blog-1/2017/3/22/greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts), others we will tell you about later.
    • Live music and great food.
    • New this year - the Pilsner Station will have rotating taps of delicious pilsner.

    100% of all money that we raise goes directly to support New Avenues for Youth, which is working to end youth homelessness in our community. Tickets are limited and can be found here: http://www.brewsfornewavenues.org/

    I'm in the same boat as you, and I'm only in Salem. I have Oyster & Geuze tix for Friday, but probably can't leave Salem until 3-4pm that day. Friday afternoon I-5 traffic is nightmarish enough when you don't add 200,000 (or more) extra people to the mix. I need to look into Amtrak. Or maybe I'll just start walking north Thursday night...

    We have a lot less Avenue No. 3 bottles this year than we did for Avenue No. 1 & 2 last year. We will likely have Avenue No. 3 and Breakside - Pause for Effect (one of our other collaboration bottles this year) for sale as a two-pack when GA starts. We won't know exact quantities until the VIP pre-sale ends tomorrow afternoon, but it should be at least 100 packages. We are keeping it a strict 1/pp on those, so VIPs who purchased ahead of time will not be able to double-dip. There will also be a GA silent auction package or two with Avenue No. 3 (including a magnum).

    Just getting the spreadsheet for all of the silent auction items finalized tonight - you lovely people are killing me with your late donations :wink: The BFNA crew went through well over 2000 bottles on Sunday. The quality and quantity of the lots are insane this year. We saved some great stuff for the GA silent auction as well, and made that twice the size of past years. I'm thinking we might need a few hand trucks stationed between the checkout area and where the uber/lyft pickups are.
