NBS BIF #6 Sign-up thread

As I mentioned, the biggest things are geography and distro. Obviously, I would never pair, for example, you and me. We live in the same state, but at 300 miles apart, we have enough of difference in distro that it would be feasible. But, then, when setting pairings, it would take 2 western based folks out of play for breaking up clusters in other regions. generally, we get clumps in the NY/NJ/PA tri-state region, New England, and MN/WI/IL/IN/MI. So, if I pair 1 NE with 1 Midwest, then that midwest with one of us, I can breakup a couple clusters like that. The first couple rounds, I put some effort into trying to keep shipping distances/costs in mind when setting things up, but I've given that up, and that's why we're seeing more cross-country or Border-to-Border pairings these days.

I've already approved one request for this round, and depending on how many folks, and where they're located, I might be able to do 1 or 2 more. And remember, a request this round, takes a potential pairing off the board for future rounds.

 

This is where I rely heavily on @LehighAce06 . He's got all the past pairings, and even when he doesn't participate he looks over my shoulder, and steers me in the right direction. We've done a couple "bounce backs", where sender and target switch roles, so you might start seeing more of that in the future.

Also, it's not out of the realm of possibility that we might assign a repeat target. BIF #7 next spring will be 3 years from the first one. With the growth of new breweries, new styles, and new beers of existing styles, I suspect most of us could easily hit a repeat target with all new beers. As an added bonus, it would make the Hints part harder for the sender, and I don't mind torturing you poor souls a bit.
