And don't forget about Bridgetown Beerhouse, Interurban, and Prost... all on the same street as Ecliptic & Stormbreaker.

Oh, and you could walk down the hill from Ecliptic and hit Widmer and Labrewatory. And then up Russell to Ex Novo. And on to Upright.

And once you're at Upright you've got the Streetcar right out front, so maybe you take that to Burnside Brewing, then walk to Wayfinder, and Loyal Legion, and Growler Guys SE, and Cascade Barrel House, and The Commons.

Speaking of Ecliptic, did you guys see the taplist over at Beer O'clock (Lardo)? Easily the most impressive Ecliptic tap takeover I've ever seen (22 beers on tap), and I'm tempted to head over just to try the Third Orbit Anniversary beer.

Tomorrow is date night in our household, and I casually mentioned to the wife that maybe we should head over to Lardo/Grassa for a bite after work tomorrow. She's wise to my ways of course, but forgot (I think) that Beer O'clock is right next door. So I think there's a good chance we're heading over tomorrow. :sunglasses:

I have a friend heading down to Sunriver this weekend and mentioned being close to Sunriver Brewing. Are there any bottles from there that are worth asking to be brought back to WA?

Scout is listed under the heading of new breweries and, unlike the rest of the list, I don't think that sublist is intended to imply quality. Perhaps that should be added in parentheses on future updates?

I absolutely hate to dis on local breweries, especially when the brewers seem to have their heart in it, but there was no context in which I would be able to claim that their beers (I tasted 3) were enjoyable. This was maybe six months ago? Just my opinion, of course.

    Enjoy your stay.

Hey @kgncfl , it turns out I'm kind of an idiot. One of the best beer events in Portland is happening tomorrow, and I should have recommended it to you a couple days ago.

    Brews for New Avenues:
    http://newavenues.org/brews-home/

About the event: The Ambassador Board of New Avenues for Youth presents the 6th Annual Brews for New Avenues– a series of events celebrating rare beer and showcasing the social consciousness of the beer community. Over the past five years, Brews for New Avenues has raised nearly $300,000 for New Avenues for Youth’s programs aimed at ending youth homelessness.

Brews for New Avenues takes place Saturday, August 19th at the Left Bank Annex in Portland, Oregon. Join us and bid on hundreds of rare beer auction packages, purchase exclusive bottlings and enjoy tastings from more than 40 different local, national and international breweries.

    Silent auction lots:

    Live auction bottles:
    http://newavenues.org/brews-liveauction/

The VIP event is sold out, but general admission tickets are still available for only $15:

TL;DR: Drink excellent beer for charity in Portland tomorrow.

6pks of Vicious Mosquito and Rippin are great, as are the 500ml Motorhead and Cocoa Cow

Being that side of the airport is where I spend the majority of my time at PDX I'm happy to see both go. I like their replacements much better. (Hoping the food also improves.)

Just drove by Great Notion. I don't know what the hell is going on but there are about 50 people just standing in line on a Sunday afternoon. I really hope that's not just the state of things now.

That's really odd. There's nothing on twitter or facebook about a special event going on there today.

Kind of hard to believe that this is just a "normal" Sunday afternoon there.

Sure the line wasn't for Pine State Biscuits? That would be a lot more understandable frankly (not to mention much more typical).

That would definitely make more sense. I did just drive by and didn't sleep much. Ignore my dumbness.

I can't believe people wait in line for beer, I REALLY can't believe people wait in line for donuts and biscuits.

I can't believe anyone waits in line for Voodoo doughnuts but I would camp overnight for a single BBB donut from Blue Star.

    Beer.
