Yeah, I agree with this statement. If I'm in the mood for something that is specifically to the expected style of a certain brewery, I may not want something that diverges, but in general I'm happy if the beer has a good hop-forward profile, and a nice feel to it.

Looks like Dry Hop is following suit. DDH IPA with citra, mosaic, galaxy and simcoe.

Seeing a rash of new beers with Galaxy as a partial ingredient (Transient, Dryhop, Corridor, all in the last 24 hours). Guessing some made it out to the area independent guys which is nice to see

I just picked up a bottle and cracked it right away. It's got the appearance down, some decent aroma too but I just thought the flavors were very muted. Still oddly bitter and kinda hung on my palate for a while. Not my favorite of all the top-notch local offerings by any means

Had Illuminated Fruit Slave last night. So many floaters in it. I'm talking like, chunks and chunks chunks of stuff. The bottom of my glass looked like it was covered in sand/rocks.
The beer itself, aroma was good, taste was lacking. Couldn't finish it due to the chunks of floaters.

Ha I brewed something very similar last week minus the mosaic hops. Thanks to ECCS for the recipe.

Looks like draft only, but looks like a winner. Might stop by for a pour after work tomorrow.

Gotta eat crow, or yeast, or hops or whatever and say that yea, the new batch of Hailstorm Cirrus is real good. This is like a completely different beer but in a good way. As Stratus became a completely different beer in a bad way, this changed way for the better. Really loving this one. Picked up a four pack on a risk and glad I did. I hope they will keep it with this profile. Previously, it was sort of a malty creamy mess, very amber in color, which I assumed added to it's maltyness. For visual reference, here is the new version:

The can date for the new version is: 8/4/17.

Did they change the color of the can too, or it that the lighting?

How do you go from a Teku to a coffee mug?

The top photo was taken using an 'orange juice' filter. Or is it an 'orange juice' unfilter? I get confused these days.

I found the most recent versions of Cirrus to have less of an oat body/flavor than the earliest batches. It never was as heavy on that oat taste as, say, Transient's for instance. But to my taste and memory, it's evolved into a more typical Juicy NE IPA

Agree on all points. This one is delicious and really disappointed with the last few Stratus.

New NEIPA to report, All Is Lost from The Roaring Table in Lake Zurich. Was able to attend their pre-opening tonight and I was very happy I did. Hazy goodiness, on par with some of the recent NEIPA's I've had from More. A little bit of a trek from the city, but worth the trip once they open next week.

Some batches of JiL absolutely have been on par with anything put out around the Chicago scene. Some other batches have not been

It's their best one yet. I think they are getting closer. I drank a bottle to myself the other night. Didn't have any issue finishing it

Smooth beer. No bittenress. No astringent aftertaste. Although, the amount of yeast in the bottom of the bottle reminded me of old school trillium bombers. Looked pretty gross but it stayed compacted to the bottle with a careful pour

    You're not.

That first batch of GB was that good. Better than almost every beer I'd had from Mikerphone to that point. The exceptions being maybe LBI and SS5
