Other Half Brewing August 2017

6 new cans this week. What's the winner? I haven't had them all yet. I get the excitement around Green Power and like that there's a new hop profile but I'm not that into the melon taste in beer. The comparisons DDH Tesseract, some TH and Another Dose seem on par to me and while I marvel that beer can taste like that, I'd choose the more predictable OH taste any day of the week. Really happy they've ventured into new territory though.

 

Cardiff Giant is from the same family as well, NY only bar.

 

Double Citra Daydream and DDH Ain't Nothing Nice are my winners for the week. Granted, I didn't bother picking up DDH True Green or DDH Dream In Green this time around.

So nice to pick up cans and get a beer on Sunday in the new tap room.

 

What's Sunday like in the new taproom? Reasonably chill or packed?

And what's the can sitch? I saw as of two hours ago that there were 15 cases of Enigma and Ain't Nothin

 

I was there 1215 to 1245, no line and a very calm vibe with people just ordering single beers.

There was plenty of nothing nice and aee when I left.

And what you think about bringing in a (very small) stroller and 14 month old? I would only bring him to grab cans in the past (when no line), as I would never want my kid to get in the way of other people's drinking and the old space was just way too small. But my wife wants to see the new spot so we were thinking of rolling by.

 

FYI double citra daydream kicked right as I was about to buy a growler. Consolation prize was a 4pk of all enigma everything

 

I think I was in front of you in line, as I was told the same thing right before person behind me ordered the same. My consolation was true green growler

 

Can someone tell me what is currently on for growler fills and if they are open on Mondays? The website says they are but when I called their recording States they are not.

 

That's unusual for the week's release to kick so quickly no? They'll probably put another keg of it on? I usually hit the taproom during the week but would be seriously bummed if I missed DCDD; had my DDH DMDD last night, love that beer.

 

Yes the tap room is open on Mondays now. 5 pm - 10 pm.

 

Anyone know what's releasing next week?

To answer someone's question: if I'm making a comparison for Green Power, I'm going TH Haze. No bullshit, Green Power was one of the best beers I've ever had.

One thing to add to my day yesterday, my buddy got a 64oz growler of Citra Daydream and it exploded after a minute or two in his fridge. Needless to say, he wasn't very happy about that.

 

Second can of Green Power much better. That being said, IMHO I don't agree with the gushing praise. I think DDH Dream un Green is better of the two cans from Wednesday

 

Had a growler of DDH Double Mosaic Daydream today, wow ,fantastic! As much as I like DDH DMD, this surpasses it. OH beer has moved to a whole new level last year or so.

 

Agree 100%. Only had a taster but wowed by it. Cannot wait for the next time in cans.
