Taster trays and samplers skew the numbers, so........ It's only a 7 day trip, with lots of driving. Also, we can only guess as to what breweries you will be trying "again". If you get a 6 pour taster tray, at 3 different places a day, all of which are "new breweries", that's 54. Add in a 1.5 new brewery visits a day, that's 10.5. Random guess on new packaged beers is 3 per day, = 21. So: 54+10.5+21= 85.5. Don't lowball me bro, don't do it!

Before the official shenanigans start I wanted to put a quick reminder out there. I know there are a lot of seasoned folks in here. I would like to put a reminder out to those that don't know or haven't done so yet.

Can you please update your wants and/or your profile page. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to put together a nice box for someone only to find that your target hasn't offered a clue as to what they like or don't.

I understand that it is almost impossible to click on every want from every brewery but at least try to hit a few. If my target has a bunch of wants that are coffee stouts or smoked beers than I know my target probably would like either of those styles included in their box.

Another easier alternative would be to put a general likes/loves/dislikes list on your profile page. Feel free to look at my profile page or @beertunes or @2beerdogs or @jhartley . They are pretty simple and straightforward. I'm sure there are others in here that are updated these were just the first couple I clicked on...

Thanks for reading and sorry for rambling....

As another reminder, this BIF is to support the New Beer Sunday thread, and so, the majority of beers you send should be new to your target. To use myself as an example, my target will be receiving a box of beer that is likely to consist of beers brewed only in my town. None of my locals get any kind of big distro, so it's easy for me to send all New Beers. Sendig walez/rarities is a nice thing, but those should be considered "extras", with the "minimums" being things that your target would likely never see otherwise.

Remember, the minimum is 66-72oz of new beer. Someone might send out 200oz, and only get 80oz in return. This tends to be a generous group, but lets keep our expectations in check.

So over the weekend I put up an offer to ship out a couple of bottles of Parabola to anyone who hadn't tried it yet. Before I could even get the boxes out, this showed up courtesy of @thebeers as a thank you

Put me down at 72. Thanks for the chance. Enjoy your trip!
If you're hitting up Hershey, Troegs is on your list, but Free Will is about an hour away in Perkasie, try to get there and check them out too!

It's definitely a bruiser. One of my favorites from last year. If one of your Perkasie contacts can procure a keg for us, I'll hold the BIF reunion at my place.

I used to keep up with this pretty well, but not so much lately. Thanks for the heads up! I will be marking off some stuff in the next couple days.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll put those on my list of possible places to talk the wife into trying, hoping to try Tired Hands as well. Looks like I already have a guess of 72 though so if you could please send another.

I'm gonna guess 69 if it hasn't been guessed.... shoot me a BM before you get to Philly and I can help you get that number up higher!

Edit: Tired Hands is a MUST. The #1 place to visit in all of PA. #2 is Forest & Main (even closer to me, actually, and about 30 minutes from TH). If you're doing the Hershey area, Pizza Boy is tops in that area. I'll avoid too long a post here, but please do BM me both for information and to coordinate a possible meetup, should you be interested.

    Fine, how 'bout 85?

Ya got plenty of great PA breweries to choose from too!
