Early to mid-January. Has always been on site/growlers only. This year (January 2017) was a max of 4 growlers, released at 5 PM, and it kicked day before the end of the night.

They'll have it today, Aug 23 at the House of Blues during the Hopped Up event.

I've been debating whether I should try to catch it tonight or wait until it's out

Interesting to see if that changes for this years release, given they now have their own full scale production brewery

Yeah, maybe they will match Revolution's move and release it in 4 packs of 12-oz cans? :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously, I do wonder what they'll do for their non-standard releases.

Haha, you joke, but it seems like they're only using a canning line for their distributed stuff so far. It would be fantastic if that's the case.

I guess what I want to say is that with all these 12 oz bottle releases Ive actually had the chance to buy them. I find it harder to get my hands on the larger format bottle than I have been.

When Porabula hit a while back I found it in several places and was able to pick up more than the previous year when they were in the 22oz bottles. Dont want to shift the discussion to that but I certainly apperciate dipping my toes into a beer I never had at a $8~$10 range than buying a $30 beer (BA Darkness) and being able to try it out.

I keep seeing these beers (Caussian, VS, Hipster, ect) sold outside the 4 pack format and love that so I can basically sample on a budget.

Had the Vanilla Shake and really enjoyed it. Reminded me alot of the Vanilla Big Hugs, coffee/chocolate cake like, the coffee works well with the malt making cor a wonderful coco flavoring and the vanillia isnt over powering.

I don't think I'd want Porabula to hit...that sounds like some sort of disease.

Porabula has been eradicated since the dark ages! LOL

If I remember correctly the BA Vanilla Shake was only $10 or $12 at Binnys.

I don't know how regularly it/they come out, but I got mine in March of this year. First time I ever came across any BA Mikkeller stuff.

It was about that at Beer Temple, too, from what I remember.

I'm almost positive Beer Temple was $18 or $19 for BA Vanilla Shake after taxes

I for sure could be wrong - I remember it was kind of stealth mode they released it and I was there randomly (I was meeting a friend in the area), and stocked up a bit.

It was a great coffee stout, but where was that barrel? It said barreled aged on the bottle.

My four pack must have been the one they forgot to put in the barrel.

Nope, that's just how Dark Horse barrel ages stuff, based on what I've had (except for the BourbRum Pt5, which I did taste [too much] rum in).

I will disagree that it was a great coffee stout, though. I don't recall much coffee at all...did get some of the cream, but really not much else.
