Yup, a right bunch of odds and sods we are!

That's kind of the beauty of this BIF; all you need to send is a nice assortment of local stuff that doesn't see much distribution beyond your local area. It's a great way to get a snapshot of the various beer scenes around the country.

 

I get it. My only point is that I would have hated to send you or the other coffee hater here some solid local coffee beers only to find out after you received them that you weren't a big fan of the style. That's all.

 

I'm guilty of sending one of the coffee haters atleast two of my favorite coffee stouts last round...woops

 

Point taken, and I also try to get some sense of my target's preferences ahead of time, and the profile page is a good place to put them. But throwing a change-up or wicked slider or two can make for some fun times as well.

Honestly, I've had some beers sent that I would never have bought for myself - and was very pleasantly surprised by them in the end. I kinda dig that aspect too. That's why I don't exactly have a list of 'dislikes' on my profile page - just some personal leanings that people can feel free to use (or not) however they wish .

That's all just a roundabout way of saying "there will be smoke" , I suppose .

The Parabola from the generous @SammyJaxxxx arrived safe and sound -- and damned if there wasn't some Stickee Monkee, Rushing Duck and Carton in there as well. Thank you, brother!

That Monkey is nothing to shake a stick at, but Parabola is still one of my top 10 beers. Stout or not.

 

As I am casually drinking one of my fridge staples that happens to be one of the finest porters on the planet, it occurred to me that even though Great Lakes distributes to several states, there may be someone who hasn't had it yet in here.

If so, respond with "Pick me! Pick me!" and guess the number of my favorite Cincinnati Reds player ever. Closest wins as to not punish a late arrival. Submissions accepted through Sunday night.
