I see Bloody Beer was pushed back from September to October. I hope it doesn't just keep getting pushed back until it falls off of the schedule.

A lot of shade being thrown at M-43 in this thread. It's become semi unbearable to read about how great everything Short's puts out is while watching dudes shit on what an up and coming brewery is doing. The only Short's beer I've had in the last few months that didn't seem off or just plain gross was Exeter, which was admittedly fantastic. I missed PCG so I can't comment on this years but I'm sure I'd drink 100 M-43's before I'll ever touch another Short's IPA.

I'll be making a visit up to Kalamazoo next month, towards the end of September. How likely is it I'll still be able to find the variety pack with the Spruce Pilsner and Speedcult in stores? I'm really hoping to take one of those things back with me to Tennessee.

I appreciate your thoughts, man! Personally, I'm not a NE IPA fan. I think I thought I was, but it's just not for me. This goes for all breweries, including Short's. So, good for Old Nation.

That being said, there is a very fine line between shitting on a brewery and just not being interested in a particular beer from that said brewery. These opinions are what it takes to make the world go round, with so many various options available to the consumer at any given time.

Lastly, not everything Short's puts out is "great"- there has been several who expressed dissatisfaction with this year's Pineapple Pilsner and Spruce Pilsner, to name recent ones. Over the years I can assure you, I've heard some horrendous reviews of our releases.

Interesting enough, I feel IPA's are where we excel, where you obviously are not a fan and that's way cool.

This is a Shorts thread, this is where your suppose to rave about Shorts beers. If you want to rave about M43 go to the Old Nation thread...oh wait. There isn't one.

"Sick burn" aside, I don't think this is just a thread to rave about Short's...it's to discuss Short's in general. I think it's OK to criticize as long as it's based on reasonable opinions & not just trying to tear them down.

Overall, Short's is one of the more interesting breweries in the Great Lakes region for their sheer variety and audacity. By that same token, anyone who says they love every Short's beer is probably crazy.

While I'm not a fan of all Shorts beers, I do respect the brewery for the various different styles of beers they brew. Also, I'm a huge fan of the communication the company has with the consumer. I don't get the feeling they are trying to copy another brewery or style. I feel good supporting them by purchasing their beer. I don't see this changing any time soon.

Ever have anything from TG? Although I wouldn't consider there beers as NEIPA, there better that stupid description....

I quite often constructively criticize Shorts for there IPA's, and they seem to listen to the feedback. Although they have yet to hit it out of the park for me on a IPA, PCG gets pretty close, only down side is its only available for one day a year.

The NEIPA in MI thread is pretty much the M-43 thread....

Shorts= too many styles and variety to limit focus to building masterful beers, but the amount of different beers provides some good notes to many different palates across the great lakes.

ON= focus on much smaller variety and a constant output of there best beers.

At the end of the day I'm glad to see them both on the shelves here.

My only quibble would be this sentence. When the lineup includes Bellaire Brown, Autumn Ale, PGGB, Chocolate Wheat, and Hopstache you've got some awesome cards in your hand.

And I'm glad M-43 took off because it's encouraged other brewers to look at NEIPA/hazy styles. I hope Step Into the Haze Oat IPA gets a release, (I thought it was better than Slurm FWIW) and there's no way I can go back to ControversiALE after having the Hazy version. More hop powder, please!

Yep, but none of their NE Style. Or do they consider everything they produce to be that? Had the Sue series.
