So what is that? The only IPA from them I ever heard any hype about was Mountains

Been awhile, but remember Quatrain being pretty/very good: Grassy, herbal, grapefruit undertones, and fairly well balanced at a moderate abv…cans will be killer

cool i guess.... I'm becoming desensitized to cans... it's more of like a "oh, you guys don't can?" then "cool, you guys can!" these days for me...

2L soda bottle format will be the new rage in a few years.. just you watch

that's actually been around for a while now. i buy kvass in 2L soda bottle format from the russian grocery store.

theres also a store in brooklyn that sells 1 litre pet plastic disposable growlers, and that system seems to work pretty well for them in my experience buying there.

Has anyone seen cans of Quatrain floating around in distro? Could have sworn I heard this was making it to distro, though maybe I am imagining things :grimacing:

The irony of beer, this thread is dormant since end of March. Oh wow 16 oz IPA cans, time to all pounce. The canning effect certainly is a crazy phenomenon.

I can see the excitement for cans. I drink alone most of the time so I don't normally want to drink 64 or 32oz of the same beer usually. The thought of having one and then keeping the other 3 for another day I like.

Now the crowler craze perplexes me. Hey let me pay you a dollar more every time for 32oz of beer or let me buy a $5 32oz growler I can use over and over again. And don't give me any of that crappie about light struck and oxidation. It's a crowler your not supposed to treat it like an actual can off a canning line.

Funny. I looked back and saw posts in April, May, July and August...leading up to the can release.

This is exactly why I asked about them. Popping a growler means, that's it. Drink it now or it's shot.

The last post in this thread before IG can picture was march 29. Not really sure what thread your talking about. Was just trying to point out how cans = newfound interest in breweries that have been around a while, not raining on anyone's parade.

Last release was in March; not much going on in between (e.g. weekly can releases)

Same here man. I just see so many places losing there magic when people start hyping up cans: troon, tired hands, kane. They used to all be our little secrets, now I see it all just being the cool thing to do. All the above breweries are still great but it has attracted a different crowd than what used to be there IMO, for better or worse. Peace love and beer. On the positive I've been finding a lot more tuckahoe bottles locally than ever before.

I hear ya man. I witnessed it first hand at Troon when they did their first crowler release. Before, was able to walk in and fill a growler. That day, I waited 90 minutes sweating my ass off in the sun, only to be shut out of the stout crowler because of folks walking out with boxes filled with cans. As much as this sucks though, we have to be thankful that we're located in such an area where we have access to so many great beers/breweries.

Tuckahoe's non-ipa beers are top notch to me

I was pleasantly surprised by Quatrain being on draft near me. Also pleasantly surprised by the beer in general. I didn't know it was Azacca, El Dorado, and Columbus... and now that I do, I think I like it a little more now.
