Are Dusty (first release when opened on draft and cans, now this can release yesterday) and DDH Dusty (was on a couple weeks back) the same beer? or at least intended to be the same beer, just getting better dialed in?

I've heard people say NE style and DDH mean the same thing...

I'm not sure about the NE style versus DDH difference, but I can tell you that regular Dusty and DDH Dusty were two very different tasting beers to me. I thought Dusty was only alright, and DDH Dusty was a pretty good beer.

The gap between Dusty and DDH Dusty has been narrowed with this latest batch of Dusty, IMO.

That's great to hear. DDH Dusty has been my favorite beer of theirs so far, with Chemical Connection and Mozie also up there.

Ok, perhaps Dusty was just dry hopped during active fermentation and DDH Dusty was dry hopped again after fermentation.

NE Style and DDH are NOT the same thing. I don't mean to dumb it down too far but DDH means Double Dry Hopped, which, as the name suggests, means the beer was dry hopped twice after fermentation and before kegging. It tends to add more hop flavor/aroma, when done correctly.

There are plenty of NE-style IPAs that are dry hopped once.

I'll second this. Picked up a 4-pack last night and really enjoyed the one can I drank last night. Still has the grassy flavor but just seemed more dialed in. Or it could be that it was hours fresh.

I would be pretty upset if this was the case as I plan on going around 7. Hopefully the first group gets 2 and they narrow it down.

I'll be there with you then around that time. I already committed to my girlfriend and my buddy's wife (who are both visiting from Omaha, NE) More's Neopolitan stout (they love Neapolitan flavored ice-cream). I need at least one to open tomorrow afternoon when we all go to Smoque BBQ. Otherwise…*gulp*...:grimacing:
