Enough about lines and allocations. Has anyone tried the beer?

    [places hand out
Initial check in's are mixed, a little concerning because almost everyone gives 4.75+ at big releases (like the Chaos release)

To be fair, I don't care who you are and your reputation, but Neapolitan stouts are very hard to make fantastic. They can be good, but I have not had any 4.75+ worthy.

I know this is going to sound way outside the box and insane but maybe....beer itself??

The strawberry is more prominent than I anticipated, I really liked it. Maple variant was unlike any maple variant I've ever had. Didn't love it, liked it. Thought the coconut variant was absolutely fantastic.

Just to break up the bitching, I'm drinking all of them now. They have the usual amazing mouthfeel of Shaun's stouts. Maple is fine, could use more maple. Coconut is very good. I like Double Rainbow the best. Super smooth and strawberry at the end. Now I wish I got here a little earlier for 2.

This exactly. Maple was meh. Regular blew the rest away. So much hate on this thread today.

I agree on the cattle gates, although a north american neckbeard mule can hop a cattle gate in a single roll.

I'm just spitballing ideas, but say you have a line. At hourly intervals you hand out numbers. Starting at 8am, you give out a single number to each person in line. You put a marker where the end of the line is and start the next segment of the line. At 9am you repeat the process with that next group of people, starting with the first person who doesn't have a number. At 10am you do the same with the next group of people who arrived after passing out the second set of numbers. The thought being that even if someone from the first group grabbed a number for their friend, they'd still be behind the group that received their number previously.

    No numbered ticket...no beer.

Do you have to stay in line or can you leave and come back at 10:50 for an 11 am open?

I'll echo others that have had them: regular (double rainbow) is definitely my favorite. Although both maple (my 2nd favorite) and coconut were descent, they both muted the strawberry almost entirely (which is awesome in the regular) so they taste like different beers.

Is it a worthy addition to the Side Note series?

Double Rainbow was the best of the 3 variants IMO. Everyone in line at 11AM got bottles and people were able to loop if they wanted more. Some people got back in line at 12:45 and were still able to get a bottle.

I think so. It's got all qualities of Shaun's typical Ram release: big flavors but balanced to go with full mouthfeel.

Looks like it. Heard the body is on point wi h side note. Knowing Shaun I'm sure it's on par with Neapolitan ice cream.

I believe Henna is the base beer. I don't believe the variants had strawberry. All are different beers.
