I agree that the number of widely distributed beers seems to have passed the saturation point. I think their will be a coming shake-out of the mid-tier breweries. I just check dates or buy from the cooler section.

Last time I bought Prima Pils it was part of the mix can 12 pack, I think it was less than a month old because it was right when Summer Love was released which was included also.

Haven't had Tired Hands but I agree with you that I'd like to see more from PA breweries. Stickman Brews has one that is occasionally available, called Fat Guy in Suspenders.

Yeah I'm less than 20 minutes away. I wish their breads had been a part of the csa for sure. Was fun to meet some of the farmers they pair with for events and beer ingredients. Cheers!

I'm sending my sister tomorrow for the release since she is in the area.
I myself have not done a Tired Hands release, only been to Fermentaria.

Which address do they do the can release at and how early does the line typically start?

    Well, now we've got a non-milkshake at $25. Double-fruited, but still...

Line is at the Ferm, and the chair drop isn't supposed to start until noon, but not sure if that is enforced anymore.

    Thanks!
Completely read over the part in their Instagram post saying it was at the Ferm.

If she gets there around 4 am I sending her into a mess of a line?

I know this has been said, and I am sure I am not the target demo at this point...

but the descrption for this weeks releases makes it nearly unbearable to read all the way through.

I understand teh hype and certain keywords as triggers, but filtering through all of the BS to just find out what the beer is..makes it a complete turnoff to me..

again not trying to start a debate, just giving my opinion

I get there around 4:30 most releases, and at that point you've got an orderly line, but yes very long. Especially with the new ipa sounding a lot like a milkshake. The mules will likely be out in full force.

Well I've waited in plenty of Treehouse lines and shared with her so now its her turn to wait in a line!

I'm assuming just drive around to find parking in the area?

The Ferm has a lot, but it'll be full by 4. There's a lot on Cricket Ave too that often has spaces open.

The guava DIPA will probably be great. A milkshake IPA without the vanilla.

One ‘jingle’ that is missing from the spiel for Are You Okay? is "Double your pleasure, double your fun".

    Cheers!

I totally see where you are coming from, but for whatever reason, it cracks me up. It's so over the top that it's got to be tongue-in-cheek, which is my favorite kind of humor. "Freaky scary Reptoid Alien with Flavor Photosynthesizing Tongue IPA" is my favorite example, in fact.

On another note, I came home from an awful day at work to find a Pineal from August in the back of my fridge and it isn't oxidized!

I also eye-roll at many of their descriptions. But actually it seems like they have gotten slightly more informative recently.

About 6 months ago (edit: found it, it was in January) I started a lively discussion in the monthly TH thread about how terms like "double dry hopped" are meaningless marketing terms for a new beer without any reference point or details.

I do not regularly follow their Instagram posts (since I don't buy their cans), but I have seen that a few times since they have indicated the lbs/barrel of dry hopping rates, or quantifying the amount of fruit used. So I give them credit for getting better.

It's funny because the chairs aren't even necessary any more. Even last week with the full case limit there was no need to line up. I bet today's the same unless one of them has really low allotment counts.

It's a release before a long weekend so maybe it'll be a bit busier? I agree with you though and I don't think it'll be a huge thing (like the release prior to the 4th of July) unless one beer has a low allotment.

I suspect that chairs a lot of the time are dropped by people on their lunch hour, and then claimed at 5 when they get out of work.

I've come around on the chairs. I used to think it was a crappy system, but it really does give people who otherwise wouldn't have the ability to get there a chance to pick up some cans. And at least over the summer, there was still plenty of beer to go around for non-chair people who show up around 6 (i.e. - me).
