I like Xtra Citra, a lot. I miss Bitter Brewer however because it marked the beginning of outside drinking, so it was not only tasty, but had that bit of nostalgia to it as well.

Surly Wet will return this year after a no show in 2014 & 2016 , ABV is only 6.1 for 2017,down a bit from latter years, and no word from Surly on the hop used as of today.

I heard through the hop bine that Surly is going old school and using heather for wet this year.

I see what you did there, and fear too many people here won't.

I don't get it, the dude further up the post says he doesn't buy Bender & anymore & can't figure out why they don't drop it? Really? If it's a top ten rated brown ale, why would they drop it, (from a business perspective)? On the personnel side of things, I think it's the best brown on the market & would be disappointed if they did drop it! Cheers.

I still see Misanthrope turding up shelves. Hey stores, give it back to the distributors.

Not a fan of regular Bender myself, but understand others love it. Now Coffee Bender and Cacao Bender, those are excellent.

I asked my Artisan rep on Friday, and he hadn't heard anything. This seems odd, because Artisan usually informs there reps a month or two in advance of Surly releases.

I imagine you guys haven't heard anything yet? I'm no brewer, but if they haven't started the brewing process is it even possible for this to be released in September?

Maybe they nixed it to make room in the fermenter for a new cream ale

Last week my rep said they are will be making it, but haven't brewed it yet. My understanding of wet hop pale ales/IPAs is that the turn around time in making them is pretty quick so we might still see it this month.

Surly Wet was brewed Friday (9/15). I have no idea when it will hit stores, but my guess would be two weeks from now.

Surly website lists 100% Mosaic hops for 2017 - http://surlybrewing.com/beer/wet/

Here is a flavor profile for Mosaic Hops - http://www.brew-dudes.com/mosaic-hops/4258

So, if this is correct information, the 2017 Surly Wet beer will be unlike any other previous releases. I am totally looking forward to this release in stores.
I thought 2015 Surly Wet was very good, but it was not as good as previous releases.

You mean canned 2 weeks from now then delivered to liquor stores 1 month after that by the distributor....

this bodes really well IMO. wet hop beers can be incredible. I wish Surly could go from vine to kettle more quickly but given their scale and location I understand that's not possible. When was the all Citra wet? 2011 or 2012? That was my favorite batch ever, but Mosaic is one of my favorite hops, so I can't wait to try this year's Wet!
