It's interesting if Cuvee of Darkness is gone that quick. When I was in there around 18 months ago at one of the times they had it, there seemed to be not so much fanfare/hype around it, and it didn't sell out immediately - I think it even lasted more than a day, but I could be wrong.

 

I think it came out 18 months ago and no one knew what it was. Did people line up at Treehouse when they released their first beer?

 

Was CoD Goose Island's first beer?

 

How is El Zacaton? I was meaning to grab a bottle some time since that's my favorite kind of beer. I'm assuming no to-go bottles right now of it?

 

I thought it was sensational. They had to-go bottles on Sunday so I wouldn't assume that. However, I'm wondering with the anniversary party weekend if they'll last deep into the weekend or not. I want to buy another ($17 fyi).

 

El zacaton was delicious IMO. Also apparently today is their anniversary gathering according to facebook. Curiously they also stated next week "coffee and cakes", imperial stout fermented with maple and coffee will be available im the taproom, not today for the anniversary. Hmm

 

Gonna try to hit up Goose after work around 3.30ish. Hopefully it's still there.

I know the raspberry port BCS kicked in under an hour the couple times they put it on.

 

Debating on driving the hour down now from vernon hills. You are right though, every other special tapping has kicked within 30 min. Hmm. What to do....

 

I thought it had already been out before when I tried it...but my memory is fuzzy. I don know that I had seen it discussed on BA before I tried it, though. Regardless, I would not go crazy trying to get it, that's for sure. It was good, but no better than a regular BCBS IMO.

Was in there at 2 and it wasn't too crazy. By comparison it was quite a bit busier when I was in there the last time for port BCS. But who knows.

As for the beer. It's pretty... pretty.... pretty good.

 

Oh damn this is tasty.

Much smaller crowd compared to raspberry port.

I keep trying to bribe people for a growler, but no dice. I thought this was America, dangit.

Also heard that the clybourn tap room might be way behind schedule.

Also also, they're bottling BCS 17 right next to us. I tried to sweet talk a preview pour, and I was denied.

This whole experience has been great for my tastebuds, and awful for my self-image as a silver tongued dynamo.

 

welp not even gonnna waste my time at this point. i hate that they announce sixtels. Just put that shit on and hush up.

 

Cuvee of Darkness #1 was actually my first taste of any type of Bourbon County. I agree with @croush - it probably isn't even as good as regular - but when I first had it I loved it. Wish I could have ducked out early today.
