I tried the new Bendy Straw last night. I'm almost positive the first batch had lactose too, so this seems like it was brewed with the same amount. It is most definitely NOT a milkshake IPA.

As others have said, the vanilla is there and you can definitely taste it, but it isn't overpowering (unless you are sensitive to it like @croush ). Pretty good overall and well crafted, but not really in my wheelhouse.

EDIT: Yep, here's the original release notes from July for the first batch. Lactose is in it.

Stopped in today, first time to corridor. Really liked bendy straw, their hopped pils and tripel were fantastic as well

 

Looks like we're going to have a concert from Colorado Springs.

Nice work on doing Chicago right from a beer geeks perspective.

 

Have to pop in for some Bendy but the holiday has got me running. Hoping to peel off a few hours for myself tomorrow and run in to grab some providing all the neighbors don't drink Corridor dry tonight.

 

Don't let the lactose/Vanilla scare you off from Bendy Straw. It's subtle and complimentary in the way that Other Half does it. Really good beer

 

The hint of vanilla is really spot on as many have described. Enough to know it is there. Another solid beer and looking to fill up my growlers again for this weekend with some more Corridor haze. Thinking to preset at Corridor before the Cubs game Friday to get some real food and beer before heading into Wrigley. Can't spend $10 on a 312 when I know a pour of Corridor is so close.

 

Don't worry everyone I'm in North Carolina this week so I won't be buying crolwers haha.

Van Hazen: Fair Warning will be tapped tomorrow after carbonation is complete. Expected to be around 5pm. Citra, Simcoe, and Idaho 7 are the featured hops.

 

Will there be a lesser Van Hagen series down the road in "honor" of the Sammy Hagar years?

Any thoughts on the new Van Hazen?

 

The latest batch of Bendy Straw tastes like a banana smoothie with a hint of orange peel. An improvement over the first batch in my opinion.
